Calculations and Evaluation after 23 Days

The Hive-based games are one of my passions and among the game projects under development that I watch Holozing is the one in which I am most interested.

If you do not know what Holozing is, you should know that it is a Hive-based project of a Pokemon-style RPG game (Web3 enabled monster catching, training, and battling game). Development is in the Alpha stage and Holozing is not playable at this stage.

On January 14, 2025, I published a post in which I shared my choice of adding liquidity into the ZING:SWAP.HIVE pool.

Today, February 6, 2025, it has been 23 days since I added 22861.67 ZING and 54.59 SWAP.HIVE to the ZING:SWAP.HIVE pool.

In the next image you can see my initial liquidity on January 14, 2025.

In the next image you can see my liquidity on today's date (February 6, 2025).

In 23 days my liquidity in the pool has changed because today I have less ZING (-420.61 ZING) and more SWAP.HIVE (+1.10 SWAP.HIVE) compared to the first day I added liquidity in the pool.

This change in my liquidity was produced by the change in the market values of ZING tokens and SWAP.HIVE tokens = Impermanent Loss

In fact whenever there are different percentage changes in the value of tokens in a liquidity pool there is always a loss = Impermanent Loss.

In this post I show you how to quickly calculate the impermanent loss using a useful tool: Impermanent Loss Calculator

In the time interval January 14, 2025 - February 6, 2025, the dollar value of the HIVE token and the dollar value of the ZING token decreased.

In the time interval January 14, 2025 - February 6, 2025:

HIVE: -0.206$ = -40.95%
ZING (Highest Bid Value): -0.0002463$ = -24.47%
ZING (Lowest Ask Value): -0.0005213$ = -39.86%

I entered the changes in the dollar values of the ZING token and the HIVE token into the Initial Prices and Future Prices fields of the Impermanent Loss Calculator and got a result = Impermanent loss: 0.75%

I only invest in pools where I have an interest in accumulating both tokens in the pool and only when there are rewards for liquidity providers and that is why I invested in the ZING:SWAP.HIVE pool.

In fact, investing in the ZING:SWAP.HIVE pool allowed me to receive an amount of ZING tokens every day.

In 23 days I received rewards in ZING tokens with a total value = 1462.33 ZING

Thanks to the rewards I received in 23 days I have more SWAP.HIVE tokens and more ZING tokens than 23 days ago.

The Impermanent Loss has been largely covered by the rewards as you can see in the calculations in the next two images.

Adding liquidity into the ZING:SWAP.HIVE pool allowed me to have +1.10 SWAP.HIVE and +1041.71 ZING compared to just Holding.

My strategy for accumulating ZING tokens will be to continue to add liquidity into the ZING:SWAP.HIVE pool because it is the distribution method that offers the highest APR.

Today I converted 50 percent of my liquid ZING tokens to add new liquidity into the pool.

I added 25571.45 ZING and 67.61 SWAP.HIVE into the ZING:SWAP.HIVE pool.

I have increased my previous share = 0.15% -> 0.322%.
I will receive an estimated daily reward = 128.99 ZING

When it will be possible to buy Healers I will remove liquidity from the pool to buy Healers that will be important elements in the game.

Obviously my choice to add liquidity into the ZING:SWAP.HIVE pool is not financial advice.

The main risk of a liquidity pool is the impermanent loss!

If you have never invested in a liquidity pool I recommend that you study and learn about the mechanisms that govern a liquidity pool before you invest!

In 23 giorni la mia liquidità nella pool è cambiata perchè oggi ho meno ZING (-420.61 ZING) e più SWAP.HIVE (+1.10 SWAP.HIVE) rispetto al primo giorno in cui ho aggiunto liquidità nella pool.

Questa variazione della mia liquidità è stata prodotta dalla variazione dei valori di mercato dei token ZING e dei token SWAP.HIVE = Impermanent Loss

Infatti ogni volta che ci sono variazioni percentuali diverse nel valore dei tokens di una liquidity pool c'è sempre una perdita = Impermanent Loss.

Nell'intervallo di tempo 14 gennaio 2025 - 6 febbraio 2025 il valore in dollari del token HIVE e il valore in dollari del token ZING è diminuito.

Nell'intervallo di tempo 14 gennaio 2025 - 6 febbraio 2025:

HIVE: -0.206$ = -40.95%
ZING (Highest Bid Value): -0.0002463$ = -24.47%
ZING (Lowest Ask Value): -0.0005213$ = -39.86%

Ho inserito le variazioni dei valori in dollari del token ZING e del token HIVE nei campi Initial Prices e Future Prices dell'Impermanent Loss Calculator è ho ottenuto un risultato = Impermanent loss: 0.75%

Io investo solo nelle pool in cui ho interesse ad accumulare entrambi i token presenti nella pool e solo quando ci sono delle rewards per i liquidity providers e per questo motivo ho investito nella pool ZING:SWAP.HIVE.

Infatti investire nella pool ZING:SWAP.HIVE mi ha permesso di ricevere un quantitativo di token ZING ogni giorno.

In 23 giorni ho ricevuto rewards in token ZING per un valore totale = 1462.33 ZING

Grazie alle rewards che ho ricevuto in 23 giorni ho più token SWAP.HIVE e più token ZING rispetto a 23 giorni fa.

L'Impermanent Loss è stato ampiamente coperto dalle rewards come puoi vedere nei calcoli presenti nelle due prossime immagini.

Aggiungere liquidità nella pool ZING:SWAP.HIVE mi ha permesso di avere +1.10 SWAP.HIVE e +1041.71 ZING rispetto al semplice Holding.

La mia strategia per l'accumulo dei token ZING sarà di continuare ad aggiungere liquidità nella pool ZING:SWAP.HIVE perchè è il metodo di distribuzione che offre l'APR maggiore.

Oggi ho convertito il 50% dei miei token ZING liquidi per aggiungere nuova liquidità alla pool.

Ho aggiunto 25571.45 ZING e 67.61 SWAP.HIVE nella pool ZING:SWAP.HIVE

Ho aumentato il mio precedente share = 0.15% -> 0.322%
Riceverò una ricompensa stimata giornaliera = 128.99 ZING

Quando sarà possibile acquistare gli Healers toglierò la liquidità dalla pool per acquistare gli Healers che saranno elementi importanti nel gioco.

Ovviamente la mia scelta di aggiungere liquidità nella pool ZING:SWAP.HIVE non è un consiglio finanziario.

Il rischio principale di una liquidity pool è l'impermanent loss!

Se non hai mai investito in una liquidity pool ti consiglio di studiare e di conoscere i meccanismi che governano una liquidity pool prima di investire!

Una curiosità, che non ho ben capito dal tuo post: per aggiunger liquidità usi metà dei tuoi ZING per convertirli in SWAP.HIVE oppure quest'ultimo lo fornisci direttamente te usando quelli che hai a disposizione?

Dopo le mie prime esperienze negative in cui guardavo solo l'APR (sbagliando) adesso ho più esperienza e conoscenza delle pools e se una liquidity pool ha token per cui ho obiettivi di accumulo mi piace utilizzarle e spesso sono molto vantaggiose ;)

Yes liquidity pools can be a good way to increase earnings for tokens for which I have accumulation goals and the impermanent loss is easily recoverable if the tokens have good present or future use cases and if the rewards apr is good ;)
