Town fiesta parade and lesson learnt from a kid.

Most of my blogs now are quite shared late as I was less active the previous month. Yeah, I am aware I am not often seen here because I was busy being a Mom. Yet, I was more as I chose to spend time with my husband and son when he was here for vacation. One thing I realized was , being a Mother and a Wife is hard. Now, I perfectly understand why some couples separated after having a kid. When you're too focused on being a good mom, the husband is often neglected and vice versa. Na, it's not what I will be sharing now but it's our town fiesta.
Unlike last year, we didn't have food preparations but one of my SIL invited us for dinner. During the day, it was like a normal day but Caleb and I watched the parade.

There are a lot of people and finding a perfect spot was hard considering I am carrying my son.
As usual, first in line are the Police to clear the road and for safety.

Then followed by other men in uniform.

Church members;

And the anticipated team that add colors;

and makes the event lively!
After are floats of different businesses within the municipality.

)I only managed to capture a few.
In every float, they usually had candies, chocolates or samples of their products. As it was high, they just threw it to bystanders and kids were happily competing with each other to pick it up first.
Since I was standing on the other side of the road and had only three kids beside me (2 boys and a girl). A few competitors. Then, I notice that the girl is not even trying and just chilling. Occasionally, she would reprimand the two telling them to be careful. That made me curious so I asked her.
conversation goes like this;
Me: Why are you not competing with them?
Her: Na, it was just candies and the stores are selling the same. I could buy later, I had money.
That made me speechless with the point of view she had!
lesson learned: you don't need to compete with anyone if you had money

)And here are the lovely floats of school officials and local pageants winners representing the municipality.

One of the highlights, biggest and grandest float was for the Hermana Mayor. Nope, not the town mayor, one who leads and sponsors the event. (me lowkey thinking this lady is rich.)

Of course I didn't compete with the kids but still managed to pick up a few candies. Perhaps when Caleb grows up I would let him join as it was fun. Also it's a way of socialization and building character.

)As the parade ended, one of the happy kids was my nephew. Look, both pockets are full 😆.
