My son and I attended the Holy Mass as our routine. Everything was fine, not until a weird old lady walked in.
Train up a child in the way that he should go; when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
That is the reason why, as much as possible, Caleb and I would attend a holy mass every Sunday. Raising a child to make sure they will grow up as what we wanted to be was never easy. I will not succeed. Yet, one way that I think will help is letting him get used how to worship our God.
my companions here now 🤣, yep Seniors
Today, as has been our routine for several months, we went to church with our mother-in-law. At the church, there is always a specific spot where we sit together with first-degree relatives. They are family and devoted Catholics with traditional practices.
While giving peace to each other, kids would go to everyone with their heads bowed down so the elders could bless them. How time flies; it was me, and now I am blessing them. See here related photos.
Also, since my son is the current baby in the family, he is passed around like a ball 😆. He sometimes gives them a smile, but he cries on random days.
Before the mass started, I went to church to volunteer for prayer petitions. A thanksgiving for all the blessings we received.
All is well. Caleb was a well-behaved baby. He slept throughout the mass and woke up when the communion was over 🤣.
BUT As the mass started, an old lady walked in, and instead of finding a vacant chair, she chose to sit here.

That was usual that caught my attention as I was at the edge of the chair next to her. As I observe, she may be in her sixties, with full makeup and thin eyebrows like the protagonist in the movie. She was wearing a sparkling flowy dress, which is best for tweens. I couldn't take my eyes off her, but I saw she had opened her bag. At first, she took a pillow snack. That's okay, but I was astonished as the next thing was a long sharp scissors. It didn't end, as the next was a pointed screwdriver, and she was talking to herself 😫. Many scenarios ran on my head, and I was planning what to do , just in case! When I could no longer take it, though it was improper, I tugged my husband's cousin. He confirmed that she was slightly mentally ill. Thus, I should not get worried as she is harmless. I hope so! Thus, I stayed alert the whole time!
What was summer like here in my country? The sky was blue, and it was already hot at nine in the morning.
Since I was already near the market, I asked my MIL to stop by the food kiosks selling kakanins and sticky rice.
Pick your choice! Mine is karyoka, sticky rice coated in brown sugar and deep fried—that one on a stick.
Also, I've been thinking of binalatongan - sticky rice with coconut milk and beans and Bilo-bilo.
MIL and I couldn't choose which one to buy, so we bought both. We just laughed and convinced ourselves to keep some portion in the fridge. That will last until tomorrow. Yeah, I know I wanted to lose weight, but at times, I love to eat and crave. It's a good thing I was able to restrain myself; I almost bought a cup of milk tea.
The binalatongan.
the Bilo-bilo
It was special if our parents cooked these on birthdays as kids. This is the cheapest option, as they only need to buy sticky rice and sugar. The rest was available in our backyard.
On our way home, we met a group of people from the caravan campaign of the local politician they are supporting. Tension between parties was in the air. As a new voter here, I am unfamiliar with the candidates, yet I have heard much about them.

Your doing well as a parent to your child,it is true that at young age we must train and teach our child the path that we want them to follow.
I was trying my best
It is really important to teach our child to become spiritually always Ma'am, and you did it very well. Our child will become responsible in the community and have fear to God. ☺️
I was hoping so they will as growing up the peers also had a great influence
A good Parents always having a good children also Ma'am. ☺️
What's karaoke kakanin? I miss eating those bilo bilo.

This is great that you train your son, to attend , praise and worship God on the Lords Day. May he grow, closer to God . Always pray for him. I did that with my son in his younger years. Now thathis teenager his the one to remind me to go to church and do the rosary. God bless and have a great week ahead.
You did great!
Hope my son will be like him too.

As I was reading your title, I was kinda curious about the old lady. I thought it was a ghost or something. I am fond of reading horror stories. This old lady needed help I hope someone can help her.
Haha more scary than the ghost.
As what my mother in-law says, there are people who helped her already

It's natural to feel cautious especially when someone's behavior seems unusual. Staying alert was the right thing to do especially you have your baby with you. Stay safe.
Correct! That mom's instinct.

Oh dear me that made me chuckle. I had visions of a murder in the church!
That was actually what in my head!
I am not surprised!
Hello, ma'am, that was my habit also, doing church every Sunday together with my mom. But as of now, I cannot go because I have 2 babies to care of.
Maybe when the babies grow older.
Sunday is sabbath day ,but most of us forget that day
That is why we should revive it to youngsters.
A great Sunday spent with the family is priceless. You are doing a wonderful job. That verse is a must for parents. The bilobilo is my favorite, it makes me lick my lips. lol
That sticky balls!

Weather was so good. I love the food. In my local place we call it binignit. I'm not sure with the spelling but it's the same in the picture made with sticky rice, coconut milk and some root crops
Yes, it also happens even when inside the church so we should be vigilant for any abnormality within our immediate surrounding. But she also deserves sympathy because she has an illness. Kakanin is everyone's favorite and they are always inviting to the eyes.
