Momentous walk for 2024: pick up the husband at the airport. He finally meet our son six months after he was born.

I thought it was the first Wednesday of the year, yet when I checked the calendar, it wasn't. I only got lost track of the date because of recent events. However, this is my first entry in #Wednesadywalk hosted by @tattoodjay.

Nope, this wasn't my normal walk outside with nature but one of the momentous in life. Last December 23, after seven long months, I travelled back to Manila, to be specific, to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Why? It was my husband's arrival for a month of vacation!

His arrival was late evening, so we left home at seven. We booked a driver and borrowed my sister-in-law's, so it would be convenient. My mother and sister-in-law have been with me since. We brought Caleb with us.

It was still Christmas, so the city was scintillating with lights.

I'm Thankful Caleb wasn't fussy all throughout the travel. He just slept, but my arms felt numb since we had no car set.

As expected, there were many people at the airport, mixed with those who arrived wanting to celebrate the festive season in the country and their families. As a part of Filipino culture, we usually picked up our loved ones at the airport in a group as long as we could fit in the car.

Finding a parking space was indeed a challenge. We got a space too far from the entrance, so I decided not to bring Caleb's stroller. (Wrong decision 😂)

A few people in departure.

But not in arrival! Everyone wanted to be in front so they could easily spot whom they wanted to pick up. Air conditioning seemed to be no longer enough as it was too hot!

Or just because I was carrying my son while roaming around the airport! His clothes weren't appropriate here, as it was hot 🙄. Bad news: I forgot to bring him a sando.

And here is the Christmas décor at the airport.

Waiting near the exit area wasn't advisable since Caleb started to cry. So, we decided to find a colder place and kept checking the monitor for the husband's flight status.

His flight arrived on time, but since he needed to pass by immigration with long queues, it took an hour before we finally chatted. At first, I was worried he might not have an internet connection. There is a free one-hour WIFI, but when I checked, it seemed to not work.

I am here; where are you staying? Finally, he chatted back after decades of waiting!

After giving him the direction, we patiently waited until............

He finally hugged our son! At times, I felt mad at him as it felt like I was only the one who endured the hardships. During pregnancy, I gave birth and my first fragile months. Yet, I also pity him for not being able to experience those beautiful moments.
