Guimaras Mango Island Cafe.

The last time I was in my birth town, I was planning to reconnect and catch up with some old friends. Thus, due to some reasons I mentioned in previous blogs, sadly yes I did but only once. It was Jhoie, my college friend. For us to have a place to talk, we dine in at one of famous tourist destination in Guimaras for food, Mango Island Cafe.

The Location.

Horizon Southpark, Bliss Project, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras. From the center town, Alibhon, you may ride a tricycle going here and the fare estimated is $1.05 not more than $2.

The Decoration and Ambience.

This is the outside exterior and it was located near the road. There was a small porch outside near the entrance decorated with bermuda grass. (pardon me but I didn't notice if artificial or not.)

A large signage with the food specialty was also displayed highlighting the specialty, mangoes.

There are several tables inside and could accommodate everyone from couple to groups.

This is where we sit as there is a long couch and more comfortable. From where we are sitting, the counter area could be seen and it was easy to call the attention of the staff.

What I liked here was if you are a pet lover they had an alfresco dining. To those who aren't you wouldn't get annoyed seeing pets inside as there was an intended area for them. However for a Mom or parent like me, there was a playground outside.

There are few activities that would get your toddler attention for a while.

I tried to put Caleb on the swing but he didn't like it and cried. lol. Not even in a slide that was because, @Asiaymalay daughter Alex, let him play beforehand on a trampoline. I wasn't there so I had no idea what happened . Also, it was his first time so perhaps he was overwhelmed.

What he wanted was to walk while holding on to the fences.

Beside the playground are several tables that could be used in dining. There was also a court and a few tables more.

On special occasions, the court was used to set up live bands etc.

This was at the side of the cafe but better to sit here at twilight or at night. It's too hot here in the daytime as it was directly facing the sun.

The Food.

As mentioned, specialty is mangoes like mango pizza, shake and others. Thus, I was starving because I hadn't eaten anything aside from bread and coffee before leaving home.

I had beef tafa, with sunny side up eggs and mango slices along with a cup of rice.

Alex chose roasted chicken which she later said would be much better if we just buy a whole one as it tastes the same yet more cheaper.

My friend tried their mango and dragon fruit shake while I added mango sundae as dessert.

Of course a cup of coffee to give me more energy and not to get sleepy.

My niece was nice enough as she took care of Caleb for a while so at least I could catch up with Jhoei. I think we only stayed there for an hour as my toddler started to get fussy. Nevertheless I had a great time and a quick break.

Coffee, nice ambience along with good companions is always the best.
