A walk with nature near at home trying to check and look back how it was before.

Happy Wednesday! yeah again and time for #Wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoo-djay.

For this week, let me share some of my walk during my vacation, nope not in tourist spots but around our vicinity.

Since Father is now old and body started to frail he could no longer do some physical activities. When I arrived home the surroundings were so green literally as trees grew. Yes, it was refreshing but looks dense. I even joked to them that I had the feeling of enchanted being hosted by the Engkanto because it looked like I'm in the forest the moment I opened our door 🤣. Good thing, one of the Ka Bario wanted to cut down the trees for charcoal. (not that huge that needs permit.) In the above photo only the mahogany are left and you can see our window. Such a relief!

I walk more while holding Caleb and Kyle tagging along. It's been two years since the last time I was here and I wanted to see changes if there is.

Most of our mahogany is now huge and tall. Perfect for furniture making but I think none of my parents are planning. Maybe they will be selling this in case.

Smoke!, na there is no need to panic. That's the charcoal of our neighbor (the trees he cut down from our land.) Here, there are few who are in this way of living. Division of income is 70/30 if I am right. Per sack now costs $6 and it's the 3rd party who will secure permits in selling at the city.

Not that huge since the neighbor also had a job and just doing this for side hustles.

Charcoal making is so tiring and you need to check it 24/7 the moment the logs are lighted. Yes, even at night to prevent the fire from getting out the sand or else it would turn to ash.

When I passed by, I saw him with his family, kids in the hammock. His wife was also there , wow full support 😆.

Still standing there my sister abandoned the house that looked hunted 😂. It was what we all think, and we feel it!

A hundred meters away was the deep well where we fetched water back then. Yes, you need to pull that long metal tube pipe up and down manually for the water to come out. Here we also took a bath, washed clothes, etc. It's a government project and a public property.

Was it hard? Of course it was! That made my arms look masculine, no need to go to the gym.

Fruit bearing trees are still there, coconut, kaimito, chico and a few bananas. There are still families in our Barrio who don't have water supply at home and depend on it.

Spotted a papaya, sadly no fruit yet but there is chicken for Tinola, lol.

We raised chickens in the province stress free, and they are wandering. Though if you are unlucky they might not go home again (slaughtered by others who had no shame.)

There is also charcoal here and the owner was waiting for the fire to totally cool down.

I was about to walk further but started to feel my arms numb. Caleb is too heavy to carry. That makes me go home instead.

Thanks for walking virtually with me.
