$SURGE is an asset that keeps going. It is a perpetual note, i.e. it has no expiration date.
Thinking that SURGE ends when the presale goes away is foolish. That is like thinking that a stock stops after the IPO.
SURGE will sells at market price. It will go up or down based upon the market's read on the underlying asset (which is $LSTR). If that keeps increasing, it is likely the value of SURGE will do the same.
Like any debt instrument, there is a yield based upon the issue (coupon rate). The price paid is what affects the APR. However, the price of the asset can move up or down.
The key with SURGE is the downside is limited due to the conversion mechanism. It is where convertible assets different from regular bonds or notes.
This is economic science most of us can't understand, but yet I try to get as much learning I can get from it. SURGE is indeed an interesting asset to hold.

I looked at the top 20 on the Bloomberg Billionaire Index. What I noticed is that nobody in that group is a trader. These are the wealthiest people on the planet and they do not try to scalp a few points trading assets. Even someone like Warren Buffett grew his wealth by building (a portfolio in his case).
Building might not be glamorous for many years but, decades later, people like Serge and Larry look pretty good.
Referring to Buffett, the way I see it is trading is only the first step in generating some capital. I'd become an investor in a heart beat if I'd have enough capital for that. Trading takes so much time.
