As always I make use of simple materials that I have at my fingertips at home that are recycled, such as: a small cardboard box, white paper, colored markers as well as black and red, scissors and pencil.

Como siempre hago uso de materiales sencillos que tenga al alcance de mi mano en el hogar que sean de reciclaje, tales como: una pequeña caja de cartón, papel blanco, marcadores de colores así como negro y rojo, tijeras y lápiz.

1- The first thing is to open the box and cut the leftovers from it, extracting one of its lids or square faces.

1- Lo primero es abrir la caja y recortar los sobrantes de esta, extrayendo una de sus tapas o caras cuadradas.

2- I drew two hearts one on the left and one on the right to which I gave color with red and black marker, added to that I marked with pencil two horizontal lines inside each one and in the center as below in the images are shown.

2- Dibujé dos corazones uno a mano izquierda y otro a la derecha a los cuales di color con marcador rojo y negro, sumado a que marqué con lápiz dos líneas horizontales dentro de cada uno y en el centro como a continuación en las imágenes se muestran.

3- The next thing is to open those lines creating grooves supporting the scissors and pressing for a hole to be made and then the cut with the scissors.

3- Lo siguiente es abrir esas líneas creando unas ranuras apoyando la tijeras y haciendo presión para que se haga un orificio y luego el corte con las tijeras.

4- On the paper I cut 3 strips that will easily enter the grooves, these must be longer than the size of the cardboard (it has to protrude). In addition to this, in the ends double in half and draw a heart, which is cut in this way but at the bottom very carefully so that it was not left out of the strip or tape since it must be fixed in this, I made some details or drawings that I gave color with markers. Notice how this step is next:

4- En el papel recorté 3 tiras que entraran con facilidad en las ranuras, estas han de ser más largas que el tamaño del cartón (tiene que sobresalir). Además de ello, en las puntas doble a la mitad y dibuje un corazón, el cual se recorto de esta manera pero en la parte inferior con mucho cuidado para que no quedase fuera de la tira o cinta ya que debe quedar fijo en esta, le realicé unos detalles o dibujos que di color con marcadores. Fíjate como es este paso a continuación:

5- The strip or tape of paper must be introduced through the slot in its upper part from back to front and then take to the bottom from front to back.

5- La tira o cinta de papel la debemos introducir por la ranura en su parte superior de atrás hacia delante y luego llevar hacia la inferior de adelante hacia atrás.

6- Place the "m" or "p" first (these were the letters I taught my little girl. You can place the ones you think is convenient). On the strip or paper tape also next to it place the vowels and on the last of these paper ribbons the complete syllable "ma, me, mi, mo, mu" or "pa, pe, pi, po, pu". See below:

6- Coloca primeramente la "m" o la "p" (estas fueron las letras que enseñé a mi pequeña. Tú puedes colocar las que creas conveniente). En la tira o cinta de papel también de al lado coloca las vocales y en la última de estas cintas de papel la sílaba completa "ma, me, mi, mo, mu" o "pa, pe, pi, po, pu". Observa a continuación:

In this way with the cardboard surplus I made another one (another game or syllable board) but marking directly the "P" on it with the black marker and only with two strips or ribbons of paper where in one go the vowels and in the other the result of the consonant "P" next to the vowel; that is, the syllable already formed.

De esta manera con el sobrante de cartón realicé otra más (otro juego o tablero de sílabas) pero marcando directamente la "P" sobre este con el marcador negro y solo con dos tiras o cintas de papel donde en una van las vocales y en las otra el resultado de la consonante "P" junto a la vocal; es decir, la sílaba ya conformada.

Beneficios de la actividad:

• Al ser una actividad manipulativa despierta el interés de los pequeños en tener el recurso en sus manos, mientras que a su vez aprende lo que en casa se le esta enseñando sobre ello.

• Despertamos la tan llamada conciencia silábica donde adquieren las habilidades para poder identificar y aprender sonidos de cada una de las sílabas de estudio.

• Representa los principios para el desarrollo de la lectura y escritura en nuestros pequeños.

• Este tablero manipulativo permite que el pequeño en casa adquiera el nivel inicial de adquisición de lectoescritura y compartir tiempo en familia de instrucción, comunicación y fortalecimiento de lazos familiares.

• Permite el desarrollo de las habilidades lingüísticas, cognitivas, sociales y emocionales.

Benefits of the activity:

• Being a manipulative activity awakens the interest of children in having the resource in their hands, while in turn learning what at home is being taught about it.

• We awaken the so-called syllabic awareness where they acquire the skills to be able to identify and learn sounds of each of the study syllables.

• It represents the principles for the development of reading and writing in our children.

• This manipulative board allows the child at home to acquire the initial level of literacy acquisition and share family time for instruction, communication and strengthening of family ties.

• It allows the development of linguistic, cognitive, social and emotional skills.
