Earlier, I decided to step away from my usual routine of grabbing donuts from JCO or Dunkin’ Donuts. Instead, I wandered into the bakery nearby and found myself face-to-face with donuts that instantly reminded me of childhood. Those simple, sugar-coated treats that are staples in Pinoy bakeries.

It felt so refreshing to reconnect with these familiar flavors. There’s something about their soft texture and straightforward sweetness that makes them comforting, almost like a hug in food form.

To make the moment extra special, I paired my donuts with a cup of my dragon fruit coffee. The vibrant, fruity notes blended beautifully with the warm, sugary donuts. It was a pairing I didn’t expect to enjoy so much, but it turned out to be a perfect match.
