Splinterlands Art Contest || Moxian Rebel

There's something cool about doing a fanart of a card for the first time, It will definitely not be the best version for me, I really love this card and will recreate it some other time. Hello everyone, I'm sharing another finished artwork which is my submission for the splinterlands art contest.

I love everything about this card, from the composition, clothing to the colours, her hairstyle is so cool. You can tell she's a pretty girl even though she looks tough and mean😁 She's the rebel of Moxian city, she runs a magic shop during the day and hunts the loyalists of the city when the sun goes down...

PROCESS

I did a sketch few days back and picked the colours for her hair clothes and skin. I painted them step by step paying close attention to her hairstyle first.

I retained most of the colours in the original work, I finished laying flat colours for her hair and went on to paint her red mask and facial features.

For the rendering, I started painting shadows and highlights to her skin first before moving to her clothes and it looked really good. Adding details to her mask took a while because it had some folds and I wanted it to look good.

Then for her hair, I began to paint lighter strands and colours to some areas. The part I looked forward to the most was her mask and the blue stuff around her eyes. I used several shades of blue to paint on a new layer, duplicated the layer and change the blend mode to make it glow and it worked.

The background is quite simple, I just added little dots and sparkles around her, some blue glow in some areas and that's all. I hope you love it✨️
