Splinterlands Art Contest | Blackmoor Trickster

I spent some time yesterday coming up with some random unfinished sketches but I remembered inhavenr entered for the splinterlands art contest so I found I card I really liked and came up with this finished drawing. For this week, I chose a common card in the earth unit, this isn't the first time I'm doing a fanart of this one, I just love it...

The Blackmoor Trickers sit on a rock or fallen log by the road. As travelers approach, they play cheerful tunes on their lute, the travelers often stop to listen, some of them sing and clap, others eat their meals, dance, drink, laugh and enjoy the entire performance.

When the travelers feel safe and relaxed, the tricksters secretly loads a dart into their lute, takes aim, and blows. Sometimes the dart is poisoned, other times it just makes them sleep. But every time, the Tricksters takes what they want and disappear.... That's so tricky, the indeed live up to their name, haha 🙃

PROCESS

I started with a sketch and my idea was to have her hands separated from her body while holding the lute. I then went ahead to add details to her horn and hair. I had blue Inkpen around the house so I used that for her mask and it looked cooler than expected, I then added finishing touches to her face and shaded other parts of her skin.
