It's a lovely and quiet Monday morning and I'm sharing something simple and beautiful to start the week. I'm sure we all have plans for the week, I hope it's a productive and enjoyable one for everyone.

Flowers are fun to draw. For this one, I started with a sketch, kept adding details as I progressed and got so lost in it that I didn't take much process shots lol.

Another thing I'm noticing about the art I'm making this year is the lack of shading, I don't shade as much as I used to and I love it because I feel like my drawings look better this way. What do you think?

I might be the other person who loves the depth the shading gives to your art. But this style, I also love it! I think it's great to just explore things and you're doing that nicely. I think this is a hibiscus. Thank you for sharing this lovely trial with us.

Beautiful, I adore lilies; they are one of my favorite flowers. Our oldest daughter's middle name is Lily 😄

The lines are so harmonious. :D Sometimes shading can 'break' the drawing in a way that confuses the eyes so they should be done carefully. The contrast on the stamen and petals look nice. :D
