Emily genuinely likes him, but she can't keep up with his jokes and mischievous behavior since it's getting immature and obnoxious. Because of her sanity, she was willing to break up with him after putting up with him for so long.

After Emily sent a breakup text message, Eric called her and invited her to meet him at the mountain where they first kissed. Emily arrived ahead of schedule. She waited for some minutes, but Eric did not show up.

A car horn sounded at her just as she was ready to leave. Eric was standing at the mountain clipp's edge when she turned around. He yelled "Emily if you break up with me, I will drive off the cliff"
