Increasing Immunity With Gynura Procumbens -Longevity Spinach
The longevity spinach (sambung nyawa) plant near my house is a great source of health benefits. I often brew tea from its leaves, which helps boost my immunity and overall well-being.
I usually take seven leaves for my tea, as I believe seven is a lucky number, haha! But you can use as many leaves as you prefer. The more leaves you add, the thicker and more concentrated the tea will become.
Gynura procumbens (sambung nyawa) contains compounds like tannins, saponins, and other beneficial substances that help boost immunity and have anti-inflammatory effects. Regular consumption, especially in tea form, can support overall health and enhance the body's natural defense system.
I wash the sambung nyawa leaves thoroughly and boil them until the water turns greenish. Once it's ready, I pour the tea into a glass and let it cool down to a warm temperature before drinking. It’s refreshing and soothing.
The taste of the tea is quite bitter, but I always feel more comfortable after drinking it. Whenever I catch the flu, I drink this tea regularly, and it helps me recover quickly.
