Harvesting Cassava

Harvesting your own crops is a rewarding and enjoyable experience. For me, it’s a fun activity that connects me to nature. This morning, I harvested my cassavas, which I planted about eight months ago. Cassava trees typically yield edible roots after six to eight months of growth.

Along with the roots, I also gathered the green leaves. They were delicious when cooked with coconut milk, providing a tender and flavorful taste.

After boiling the cassavas with a bit of sugar, I fried them, creating a filling dish. These cassavas were packed with carbohydrates, making them a great source of energy for the day.

One of the things I love about growing cassava is that it doesn't require special care. You simply plant the stems and let the plants grow. Cassava trees thrive in full sunlight and benefit from being fertilized with organic materials. This makes it an ideal crop for those who want a low-maintenance yet highly rewarding plant to grow.

After six or eight months of patience and care, you can harvest your cassava and enjoy the fruits of your labor. It's a satisfying feeling to reap what you've sown, knowing that your efforts have paid off with delicious, homegrown food.

For anyone considering growing cassava, it’s a simple, yet fulfilling process that not only provides food but also offers the pleasure of nurturing a plant from start to finish. It’s truly a fun way to experience the joy of farming..

Cassava is one of my favorite food and it's good when you make a cassava cake or something that is sweet that is made from cassava. I'm really a fan of cassava and whenever there's a cassava slices in the bakery, I would buy one and have a bite for myself.
