From The Window

The sun shines through my window, waking me with its warmth. I look out, squinting at the brightness that floods the sky. It's so bright, almost blinding. I brush my eyes with the back of my hand, still heavy with sleep. The silence of night has faded, replaced by the soft stirrings of morning. A new day has begun, full of promise and light. I breathe in, ready.

The sky is blue, calm and clear. Oh no—I’m too late! But then I remember, today is a holiday. A wave of relief washes over me. I feel lazy this morning, my limbs heavy and unwilling. The cheerful sun mocks my stillness, and I am utterly defeated by the noisy birds outside. Their chirping fills the air, louder than usual. I sigh, smile faintly, and sink back into bed.

A lazy cat stretches out on the windowsill, as if she agrees with me completely. She lays down her body with a soft sigh, eyes half-closed in the warm sunlight. Maybe she stayed up all night, sneaking around on a secret date under the moonlight. Or perhaps, like me, she knows today is a holiday. No rush, no duties—just quiet moments shared in silence. We both enjoy the peace.

The leaves photosynthesize their food, quietly thriving in the morning light. Sunlight is life, warm and constant. Maybe it's time I leave my bedroom, and step outside to greet the sun.
