Being A Peaceful Person

In recent weeks, my students resisted the idea of celebrating graduation. At first, I was shocked, but I soon realized it’s best to honor their wishes. I’ve decided to set aside my plan and support what they truly want instead.

I never meant to leave my students behind, but I chose to support their ideas. However, I worry they might remain too comfortable, avoiding challenges that help them grow. There’s a difference in perspective between the school principal and me regarding this situation. To maintain harmony and avoid conflict, I decided to stay quiet, even though I still hold concerns about their long-term development and motivation.

After exams, the students stopped studying and even attending school, which the principal accepted. I wanted to guide them in preparing for their future goals, but they seemed indifferent. Many believe they don’t need to make strong efforts, trusting that God will provide everything as long as they memorize the holy book. The older they get, the stronger this belief becomes. I’m concerned, but as a part-time teacher, my influence is limited.

I realize I cannot change my students’ mindset, so I choose to calm myself and focus on achieving my own goals. Rather than feeling frustrated, I prefer to be a peaceful person, accepting what I cannot control and growing in my own journey.
