I'm not sure whether it would have been useful for the problem you described, but Critical Path Analysis is a good project management tool.

My project was not too complicated, but I always want to be prepared in case of bad scenarios.

I'm looking to simplify things, so I am now only posting articles on my website (LearningPages.org). I won't be publishing anything on Medium, and I'll see how my current blogging strategy on HIVE works out in the new year.
