Say Hi to Bamby with Peach: Handmade Clay Phone Hipper

Hello, how are you? So I've been practicing my chibi clay skills for months now, and I stopped for a while, but I decided to be back again and start doing what I sketch as my model.
So I posted some of the creations I made, and I feel like it is too big and too consuming of polymer clay. So I've been free lately, and I opened my notes for ideas of crafts I listed I wanted to try, and I saw Phone Hipper, which is a cute design for a phone.
And yeah, I decided to make one for me. Took time to get used to it.
Materials I Used:
- Glass Sheet
- Polymer Clay
- Portable Weighing Scale
- Alcohol
- Qtip
- Gum Container
- Clay Tool
- Xacto Knife
- Silicone Mat
- Oven
- UV Resin
- UV Lamp
- Disposable Gloves
- Mask
- Eye Shield
- Brush
- Soft Pastel
- Strong Viscosity Double Sided Tape
Craft Time!
This idea is stuck in my draft storage in my brain. I've been liking Bamby from Plave, so I decided to make him my reference and make it with my art style, I guess. So yeah, I start with compiling all the clay colors I am going to use.
Condition them by kneading until soft, and when I weigh enough clay, I am going to use using portable weighing scale.
And then I assemble them by part so that I can easily work when sculpting them later.
So I am going to start at the face, so what I do is I clean the foundation of the face, which is the head. I use alcohol and a Q-tip to clean the dust off.
Then I start adding the ears.
Next are the eyes. I do dot clay and then press that onto the face.
And then I added the eyebrows.
And then the nose, what I do is I grab some pink clay and then shape it into a triangle, and then cut it in the middle just like a heart shape, but opposite one, LOL. And then I added the lips too.
For the hair, I divided the clay into different parts according to how the hair flows, and then I used the needle tool to smooth the hair.
After that, I added the arm and body. What I do is I lay the head into a gum container and assemble it carefully.
Then I added the outer clothes and the legs. What I do is I roll the clay into a thin sheet, and then after that I cut it into the size I need. And then I wrap it around the body, and after that, I add the legs.
For the peace, I shape the clay into a ball, and then I add a texture using the needle point, and then I add a leaf too, and then color it with soft pastel.
After that, I bake it in the oven at the temperature and time specified on the packaging.
I first coat the clay with thin UV Resin and then, using a paint brush, I apply it as carefully as possible. After that, I cure it under the UV Lamp until it is not sticky.
This is what it looks like after.
Now it is time to add the strong viscosity double-sided tape. Be careful because the tape has strong adhesive, make sure to tape it onto a case, not in the literal casing of the phone, because mine peels off LOL.
This is what it looks like from the front and the side.
Did a little photoshoot!
