Sauteed Sardines with Eggs: Recipe I Always Cook When I'm On A Budget

$1

Hello, how are you? When my brother and I are the only people inside our home, I tend not to cook more complicated food. My brother understand it so sometime we only eat just plain fried egg and we good to go and there this time my brother taste the sautéed sardines with egg I cooked, he said he likes it so when we are sick of eating just fried egg, this is my go-to food to cook, preparation is easy and good for people who have a lot of thing to do but still wants different kind of cook food to eat.

And one thing I discovered is that adding a little white vinegar to the food before eating it makes it taste a lot better. I remember before we ate a lot of rice because of this. And pair with super cold soft drinks. Makes a million times better.

Ingredients I Used:

  • Tomato Canned Sardines
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • Red Onion
  • 1/2 tsp. Fish Sauce
  • 3 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp.Chili Flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. All-in-one Seasoning

Let's Cook!

In a hot pan, I added 3 tablespoons of cooking oil.

Then I added the aromatics like garlic and red onion. Cook it until the fragrance comes out.

Then I added the canned tomato sardines, anything brand will do.

Next, using the back of the spatula, I press the sardines until their texture is kind of mushy, just like in the photo.

And to remove the fishiness of the sardines and make them taste delicious. I added just a teaspoon of fish sauce.

Then I added about 1/4 teaspoon of all-in-one seasoning, which makes the food a million times better.

Then I crack the eggs directly into the pan without whisking.

Then hurriedly mixed it using the spatula.

17.JPG

18.JPG

Then I added just a little ground pepper, maybe about 1/4 teaspoon.

19.JPG

20.JPG

Then I added 1/4 teaspoon of chili flakes, we like it hot.

Set the stove fire to high and cook the sardines, making sure not to stop mixing them. It is a good sign when browning starts to appear on the pan, it means you’re cooking it right.

And when the texture of it turns into like dry and toasty texture, it means it's cooked.

I added chili flakes to garnish the just to make it appetizing in the photo.

Happy eating!!!

The best canned food recipe ever! This was my favorite too (I just forgot it exists haha) and even just sardines and egg still taste delicious. So simple yet so good especially paired with hot rice. I should cook this again at some point. :D
