Matcha Strawberry Pancake Handmade Clay Keychain

Copy of Copy of Matcha strawberry donut.gif

Hello, how are you? I've been loving matcha since I was starting college, and it's so sad that matcha is still not famous at that time, before it was so hard to find a snack that was flavored with matcha.

But this past year's matcha is so famous that Japan literally almost ran out of matcha LOL. But there is a downside to always drinking matcha is not good, so eat or drink moderately.

So I saw someone making matcha pancake, and I was like "That was so good!" I want one hahaha, maybe in the future when I have the power to go out by myself. So I am just going to sculpt it using polymer clay, which I do when I crave something. LOL. I hope you enjoy it :D

Materials I Used:

  • Polymer Clay
  • Weighing Scale
  • Gum Container
  • Needle Tool
  • Toothbrush
  • Dotting Tool
  • Soft Pastels
  • Brush
  • X-acto Knife
  • Eyepin
  • Oven
  • UV Resin
  • UV Lamp
  • Mask
  • Disposable Gloves
  • Keychain
  • Pliers

Craft Time!

I first condition the clay I am going to use, after I weigh it into exact size.

6.JPG

7.JPG

I shape them into a ball.

9.JPG

10.JPG

I use the cap of the gum container to flatten them.

11.JPG

12.JPG

Using the needle tool, I added texture to the clay.

13.JPG

14.JPG

I use a toothbrush to add texture to the body of the clay. I am imitating the texture of the real pancake.

15.JPG

17.JPG

Stack them one by one. I like to stack them unevenly, I like it that way.

19.JPG

20.JPG

I used soft pastels and a brush to add the matcha color to it. I started with a light color first.

21.JPG

22.JPG

All the matcha I saw has browning happening when it gets cooked, so I added browning on the side and middle.

23.JPG

24.JPG

I think it will be good if I added a vanilla ice cream on top of it, so I made one by shaping a small ball, and then I surrounded it with thin line clay.

25.JPG

26.JPG

Using the X-Acto knife and brush to add texture to it.

27.JPG

28.JPG

This is what it looks like, and I think it is too white for my like but I am going to change it later.

29.JPG

30.JPG

For the strawberry, I use translucent clay, and for the shade, I use soft pastels and a brush.

31.JPG

32.JPG

Now everything is made, I am going to add the ice cream first.

33.JPG

34.JPG

Next is the strawberry. I added it next to it, and then, using the dotting tool, I added the texture to it.

35.JPG

36.JPG

And then I added the eyepin.

37.JPG

38.JPG

Then I bake it in the oven, but first I preheat the oven, set the temperature and time according to what the packaging instructed. Let the clay cool down first before proceeding to the next step.

40.JPG

41.JPG

To add the melted effect of the ice cream, I mix UV Resin and light yellow soft pastel, and then just apply it using the needle tool, and then cure it under a UV Lamp for a couple of minutes.

43.JPG

44.JPG

To add the matcha syrup, I mix UV Resin and some green.

45.JPG

46.JPG

Mix them.

47.JPG

48.JPG

Apply it using the needle tool, so I have left over ice cream mixture earlier to make it more realistic. I mix them. And then I scrape a white soft pastel above it to make it look like powdered sugar.

49.JPG

50.JPG

And then cure it under the UV Lamp until the texture of it is no longer sticky.

51.JPG

52.JPG

To add the keychain, I put the jump ring with the keychain into the eyepin, and then I lock it using the two pliers I have.

This is great. I like your work more and more, especially because of how beautiful the final results are. I don't know if you sell them, but I'm sure your little creations would sell very well.
