Handmade Clay Keychain Green Grapes Tanghulu

green grapes tanghulu.gif

Hello, how are you? Before the new year, my mom always buys fruits that are round because people believe that it is the shape of money, so it is lucky. After the new year, we are supposed to eat those fruits before it gone bad, so sometimes when my mom buys fruit, the vendor will always say that the fruits are sweet, but infact it is not LOL.

So one time out of curiosity, we saw green grapes, and I asked my mom if there was any difference between the violet ones? To kill that curiousity we bought one for us to taste, and yeah, the difference is just the color LOL.

So yeah, for today's craft, I am going to make a green grape tanghulu, which is one of the famous desserts that is coated in melted sugar. Yeah, I think the green grapes are one of the other popular ones, but not as popular as the strawberry, so yeah, I am going to make a green grapes tanghulu made in a clay keychain. I hope you enjoy it :D

Materials I Used:

1.JPG

  • Translucent Clay
  • Weighing Scale Portable
  • Gum Container
  • Toothpick
  • Soft Pastels

Craft Time!

First, is to condition the clay by kneading it until it is soft enough to work with. And then after that, I wanted my clay to be equally in size, so I weighed them.

After that, I shape them into a circle using my hand.

And after that, I use a toothpick to poke in the clay I shaped earlier, I did it one by one, and I make sure to add a little bit of space of toothpick just to imitate the actual tanghulu.

After that, I added shade to the clay using soft pastel. This part tests my patience, but it's worth it with the result. What I do is I grab some soft pastel and then, using the brush, I layer the clay.

Next, I added the eyepin, which will be the part where I can put in the keychain, so it is important.

Then after that I place the clay onto the silicone mat, and then I wait for the oven to be preheated, and then after that I bake the clay at the temperature and time as instructed on the packaging of the clay.

After that, I mix UV Resin and just a little bit of brown soft pastel, mix them, and then using a paint brush, I apply the mixture onto the clay.

This is what it looks like, and then I cure it under a UV Lamp for about 5 minutes or until the texture is no longer sticky.

22.JPG

23.JPG

To add the keychain, I will need two pliers. I put the jump ring into the eyepin.

And then I lock it using the two pliers and am done!
