Gintoki Sakata "Ginchan" Gintama Fanart
Hello, how are you? Gintama is one of the anime that I truly enjoy watching, as I remember my brother recommended it to me, and thanks to him, I became thankful for this anime. My brother and I were not close before, but because of Gintama, we did LOL. It is our bonding moment, and it is good to remember those memories. I have a lot of favorite funny episodes, for example, that one episode where they're going to a public bath with the Dakini Tribe and the Attending Funeral, oh, there is another one, the episode of Shogun getting his hair done part LOL.
So for my fan art, I drew Gintoki from the opening song of the anime as they looks at the camera hilariously. I love that part, so I decided why not draw it in my style, so I did.
The Process:
For the line art, I used this as a reference and then I used marker details to draw the line art to make the line art cleaner. I adjusted the stabilization of the brush.
To add the base color, I use the shape fill tool and I fill the background with gray to tone up the canvas and for me to easier to add the base color. Then I make sure that each part has its own layer for easier rendering later.
After that, I still used the shape fill tool to add the shadows and highlights to the character, which makes the rendering cleaner and saves me a lot of time.
Next, I added texture to the canvas, which is a usual ritual for me, and then I lowered the opacity of the line art because I am not dependent on it, and then I blurred using Gaussian blur all those layers of shadows and highlights to make it softer, and then I start adding more layer of shades of shadows and highlights.
I erase some part of the line art, like the part where the highlights are. Fix some part that needed fixing.
For the background, I stick to the reference background design, and then I just repeat the process earlier. And I erase the line art to make it easier to see which part needs more details.
Thank you for visiting. See you on my next blog. :D
Please take care of your mental health as well.
