Fire Elemental Splinterlands Weekly Art Contest Entry

Hello, how are you? Time flies so fast, it is Friday again, and I’ve been feeling like going out tomorrow to unwind just a little bit.

I don’t get it, it is Ber months now, but the weather is still hot as hell, which makes me can’t sleep at night. I am thinking of sleeping outside because the temperature inside is unbearable. I thought I was the only one feeling this hot weather, but guess what, not. LOL

So for my entry for this week, I chose Fire Elemental for my entry this week because it is hot as hell here, headache killing me when it is so hot, can't process anything, and to ease that, I should draw fire characters for this week LOL.

The Process:

For the line art before I use to draw only the character and for the final process I add the background but now I decided to just draw the background and stick to it and I like it actually, for the brush I use the detail marker my go to brush for sketch and line art and I will never forget to turn on the stabilization for cleaner lineart.

For the base color, I use the brush shape fill tool to add it, and I make sure they have their own layer for easier rendering for later and which works so I always do it whenever I draw, and the good thing about it if you mess up the other layer the base layer will not be affected just the delete that layer and done! I decided to add a darker background before I add the base color, which helps me to tone up and makes it easier to see when adding the base color.

For the next process of the drawing, I first add texture to the canvas, which is a ritual for me now to do. And then I started to add the base shadows and highlights, which made it easier to do shapes of shadows and highlights. I still use the shape fill tool brush, and I like using it for shadows and highlights. It gives shape to the character, and it makes it easier to add where it is where and it doesn't make me confused when I really start rendering it.

For this part of the process, I start blending the shadows and highlights using the blur filter, Gaussian Blur, which I like to use to make everything easier for me, literally, and using that filter helps my art look more blended.

For this part of the process, I added more detail to the character, and I decided to darken the background to make it easier to see which parts needed to be darkened and lightened. I like to do it every time I do another process, that way makes it easier to look at it. And another thing is, I lowered the opacity of the line art because I am not dependent on the line art, so it will be gone in the final process.

For the final process, because her power is fire for sure, the reflection of the light is more visible and needs to be more reflective, so I fixed that, and then I decided to choose red as the background for the final look and added some fire smoke effect on it. And I like to make fire glow, and it is more interesting to look at when I do those steps and make everything look fine and done.
