Chocolate Donut Handmade Clay Keychain

Hello, how are you? I’ve been on track lately, which is a surprise, so much so that I wanted to reward myself for being so productive lately.
I was listening to a podcast that mentioned that when you suddenly think of someone like your friend or your family, you should immediately text them or chat with them, ask them how they are, because maybe it is a sign that they need a friend for comfort, and then my friend from college pop-out my mind suddenly. Maybe it is a sign for me to contact my friends sometimes.
So yeah, I am planning to go out and eat something like desserts, and you know I have been craving for donuts for weeks, and classic donut like chocolate one is one of the flavors on my donut list hahahaha. And of course, to ease those cravings again, I am going to make a chocolate donut using clay!
Doing clay is healing my soul so much that it felt something dark and heavy energy leave my body. LOL
Materials I Used:
- Glass Sheet
- Polymer Clay
- Portable Weighing Scale
- Needle Tool
- Paint Brush
- Eyepin
- Soft Pastels
- Makeup Brush
- Liquid Clay
- Clay Tool
- Tree Brush Tool
- Silicone Mat
- Oven
- UV Resin
- Disposable Gloves
- Mask
- UV Lamp
- Keychain
- Pliers
- Gum Container
Craft Time!
First, I condition the clay, which took me just a little amount of time, mines soft, so it took me a second to condition it, and then I like to weigh it before sculpting it. I just like my donuts in the same size.
I shape it like a circle with my hands, and I highly recommend using a cap of medicine container you have because it makes things easier.
Using the tip of the body of the paint brush, I poke a hole in the middle just like how a donut has.
Using this tree brush tool, I added texture to it just to make it more realistic.
To make it look that i has been fried, I added shades to it using soft pastels and a brush.
To make the chocolate glazing, I mix clear glue and a piece of dark brown polymer clay until the consistency turns into a realistic glazing.
And then I apply it to the clay.
After that, I put in an eyepin.
It was supposed to be like a drizzle chocolate texture, but it got absorbed into the first layer of the glazing, and I guess better luck next time LOL.
I bake it under pre heated oven at the temperature and time as specified on the packaging.
Let the clay cool off. And then I added resin and applied it using a brush
Cure it under the UV Lamp for about 5 minutes, or if you don’t have one, cure it under the sun, but make sure to do it in the morning.
Then I added the keychain by putting the jump ring into the eyepin with the keychain, of course, and then locking it using two pliers.
Chocolate Donut!
