Betamax Handmade Street Food Clay Keychain!

Copy of Your paragraph text (6).gif

Hello, how are you? This street food was one of the first I tasted, and I fell in love with its taste. And of course, I need to make a clay keychain of it. I love to dip it in vinegar full of chili and sauce.

I used to hide eating this one from my mom when I was little, and sometimes my cousin helped me hide it from me LOL. I like to explore different, unique food sometimes.

Betamax is a pig or chicken harden blood that is shaped rectangular, skewered, grilled over burning charcoal, came from the old video tape Betamax, which is close, I guess? LOL.

Materials I Used:

$1

  • Polymer Clay
  • Portable Weighing Scale
  • Soft Pastels
  • X-Acto Knife
  • Toothpick
  • Alcohol
  • Qtip
  • Makeup Brush
  • Eyepin
  • Gum Container
  • Oven
  • Silicone Mat
  • Uv Resin
  • Face Shield/Facemask
  • Disposable Gloves
  • Uv Lamp
  • Pliers
  • Keychain

Craft Time!

Conditioning the Clay:

First thing I do is I condition the clay by kneading it until the texture of it is soft enough to work with.

Weighing, Shape, Scultping:

5.JPG

6.JPG

To make them equally sized, I like to weigh them first, and before I sculpt them. I use this portable weighing scale to measure small clay, as I have here.

9.JPG

After that, I shape them like the shape of Betamax.

10.JPG

11.JPG

Then, using these two tools, I added texture to the clay, so Betamax has hold and line to it, so that is what I do.

13.JPG

14.JPG

This is what it looks like. It is okay if it is not perfect, that's what it is supposed to be.

Adding the toothpick:

17.JPG

Then, after that, I use a toothpick as a BBQ stick for the clay. I carefully poke in each clay.

Adding Shade to the Clay:

18.JPG

19.JPG

Betamax usually has brown and black shades on it, so I use this soft pastel and makeup brush to add color to the clay.

20.JPG

21.JPG

I added about three layers of shades, and this is what it looks like.

Adding the Eyepin:

22.JPG

23.JPG

Then I am going to add the eyepin. I added it at the end of the clay.

Baking the Clay:

24.JPG

25.JPG

Then I place the clay onto the silicone mat, and then I bake it in the oven with the temperature and time based on the instructions on the packaging. After baking, let it cool down before proceeding to the next step.

Adding the Glaze:

27.JPG

28.JPG

I am going to use UV Resin, UV Lamp, Disposable Gloves, a toothpick, and soft pastel.

29.JPG

30.JPG

I added resin into the disposable gloves, and then I added soft pastel for the sauce of the Betamax.

31.JPG

32.JPG

I mix them and then carefully apply them to the clay.

34.JPG

36.JPG

And then cure the UV Resin using the UV Lamp for about five minutes or until it is no longer sticky.

Adding the Keychain:

37.JPG

39.JPG

For this part, I am going to use pliers to add the keychain. What I do is I hook the jumpring into the eyepin, and then I am going to lock it using the two pliers I have.

38.JPG

40.JPG

Now, I have a Betamax keychain. I forgot to add the chilis, so I added them behind the scenes LOL.

Photoshoot of the Clay Keychain:
