Christmas is winding down. As I write this on the 26th of December we still have one more family function to attend. I dont think that I'll take any photos today though, so this should be my last Christmas post for the year.

On the 24th we went to my wifes parents house to celebrate. It's a large event with a lot of extended family.

I didnt take a lot of photos that night but here's a look at the main table setting to get an idea of the amount of people.

There was also a smaller table set up for the "kids." The age range at the kids table was 20-40 years old so I guess the label is all relative these days. I sat at that table.

The food was really good. As delicious as it was though, Christmas dinners tend not to be overly photogenic. Its really just a lot of variety of food all piled up on a plate.

On the 25th we went to my mom's house. It was a much smaller gathering of just four of us.

My mom really goes all out with her Christmas decorations though.

There are little ornaments that she has collected over the years all scattered throughout the main level of her home.

Her tree was looking very purple this year as you can see.

The tree looks different to me every year that I see it. I'm pretty sure that it was white a few years back.

This year seems to have a butterfly theme going on. I don't remember that from before.

We did a comfy clothes Christmas and it was nice not having to dress up. My sister wore a Christmas sweater that had changeable wording on it. We call these "Ugly Christmas sweaters" even though they tend not to be ugly.

The decorations definitely look better at night when it's dark and all of the lights are lit up.

Most of my mom's decorations use batteries to light them. She needed over 20 batteries just for the tree lights you see scattered around.

That's a lot of batteries!

The blue lights on the tree don't really translate in the photos very well but you get the idea.

A full Turkey dinner is a lot of work and ends up being way too much food for only four people so for supper we ended up having a traditional family meatball soup served with chicken parmesan (not traditional for us but very tasty nonetheless).

I forgot to take pictures of the food but It was quite good.
