Boat Show in Algarve - Marina de Vilamoura Event Impressions
Hello everyone. When we visited the town of Lagos in the Algarve region in southern Portugal, I attended a boat show held there. It was an exhibition where boats, yachts and various marine vehicles were showcased. The event took place at Marina de Vilamoura. I had never attended such an event before, so it was quite interesting.
First I would like to give some information about Marina de Vilamoura. It is Portugal’s largest and most famous marina, internationally recognized and the recipient of numerous awards. It has over 850 berths. At the exhibition there were more than 100 marine vehicles, over 30 different companies and more than 50 brands.
Now let's talk a bit about the prices. For example, inflatable boats with bumpers started at around 80.000 euros. More advanced models were around 120.000 euros, while custom-designed ones were 150.000 euros and above. Just like cars, there are different equipment options. Both new and second-hand boats are available. There are also rental boats, so when deciding whether to buy or rent, you should consider how often you will use them.
We came across many stands and pavilions at the event area. Boats as well as various equipment for them were displayed there. What was interesting was that small boats were surprisingly affordable. Some were even cheaper than many cars and some could even be used for overnight stays.
Larger boats offer more customization options. Factors such as engine power and interior design directly affect the price. By the way I was surprised to learn that some of the world’s leading design companies in boat tuning were also involved.
This marina is actually the oldest in Portugal and celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. Interestingly this date coincides with the Carnation revolution in the country.
If you suffer from seasickness, do not worry, because not only marine vehicles but also many land vehicles were exhibited here.
The most prestigious companies at the fair had stands that looked more like lounge areas. Snacks and drinks were served there. This created a much more enjoyable atmosphere compared to a standard exhibition setting.
Speaking of small vehicles, everything from jet skis to paddle boards was available. There were even mini kayaks for children. Innovative products such as electric paddles were also on display.
I should mention that I am not an expert on this topic, but the overall atmosphere was very enjoyable. I hope you like my post. Thank you for reading.
