Black is bold and beautiful.

There is a stigma that comes with the color black. I know a few people who don't wear anything black because they think it means evil, and to this day, I still wonder what inspired that thought or idea.

It's funny how a black person thinks the color black is bad, and yet, we complain about people with other skin colors not accepting us. How do we convince people to love us when we don't love ourselves?

Some detest black to the point that they don't even like animals or interior decorations with the color meanwhile they look more beautiful to me than regular colors.

My grandma doesn't like black, she's too spiritual and thinks it's a terrible color alongside red. I don't wear them around her because it would be a long day for me with stories of how the color black brings ill luck. These two colors are my favorite but I prefer black more because it blends with almost every color.

As a student at the university, I preferred black skirts and trousers because they're easy to maintain, but people still misunderstand my intentions. They think dirty people prefer the color black since the color can endure unfavorable conditions. Thinking that those who love black people are the dirty ones is wrong, but they are not wrong about how black people thrive even in difficult conditions.

Every morning when I open my wardrobe, I combine anything with black. It doesn't give me a headache of combing through colors, and I can just choose any of my tops regardless of the color.

You can never get it wrong with anything black. Whether it's a bag, accessories, furniture, gadgets, skirt, or polo, the color always speaks of class and perfection.

I wear black almost every day, and other hijab sisters can relate to this point. As a minimalist, having excessive hijabs doesn't work for me so a few black hijab does the magic. There are times I go for colors other than black, but I don't keep them for long.

It's bad and I don't know why Nigerians are fond of stigmatizing colors.
