Curtain Transformed Into Tablecloth

Greetings, friends, wishing you a blessed day. Today my project is very simple: how to renovate a curtain fabric and use it as a tablecloth. Days ago at my sister-in-law's work they were renovating the office. As it is customary in many companies, they vote everything, no matter if things still have useful life. And in this case, when they were going to vote some curtains in very good condition, my sister-in-law asked to give it away.

Un saludo, amigos, deseándoles un bendecido día. Hoy mi proyecto es muy sencillo: como renovar una tela de cortina y utilizarla como un mantel. Hace días en el trabajo de mi cuñada estaban renovando la oficina. Como es costumbre en muchas empresas, todo lo votan, no importa si las cosas todavía tienen vida útil. Y en este caso, cuando iban a votar unas cortinas en muy buen estado, mi cuñada pidió que se la regalaran.

So she washed and bleached them, and after this process she cut them to use them as a tablecloth. It is here where I intervene and, after baking the edges, I wanted to highlight the fabric by giving it color. And it occurred to me to use some markers that I had saved for another purpose, and I began to draw some flowers that I then traced to transfer it to the fabric. With these markers you can paint on fabric and the paint does not fall off when you wash it.

De esta forma ellas las lavó y blanqueó, después de este proceso las cortó para aprovechar de colocarla como mantel. Es aquí donde yo intervengo y, luego de cocerle los bordes, quise resaltar la tela dándole color. Y se me ocurrió utilizar unos marcadores que tenía guardados para otro objetivo, y comencé a dibujar unas flores que luego calqué para transferirla a la tela. Con estos marcadores se puede pintar sobre tela y la pintura no se cae al lavarla.

The work turned out to be fun and was very nice and delicate. As I like to paint, I enjoyed it very much. The design is intended for a square table, basically a four-seater table. So the fabric could be reused. For this project we are going to use the following:

El trabajo resultó divertido y quedó muy bonito y delicado. Como me gusta pintar, lo disfruté mucho. El diseño está proyectado para una mesa cuadrada, básicamente de cuatro puestos. De manera que la tela se pudo reutilizar. Para este proyecto vamos a utilizar lo siguiente:

• Sewing machine
• Fabric
• Acrylic markers
• Sketch of the drawing

Procedure:

Previously, once the fabric is cut, we sew the tablecloth, making a hem all around. We place the sketch and start drawing.

Procedimiento:

Previamente, cortada la tela, le pasamos costura al mantel, haciéndole un dobladillo por todo el alrededor. Colocamos el boceto y comenzamos a dibujar.

Once we have the drawing, we start painting with the markers. First we paint the four corners and then we paint the center of the tablecloth to give it more color. It is always good to fix the paint with an iron.

Una vez que tenemos el dibujo, comenzamos a pintar con los marcadores. Primero pintamos las cuatro esquinas y después pintamos el centro del mantel para darle más colorido. Siempre es bueno para fijar la pintura pasarle la plancha.
