My Introductory Post to Hive

Hello 👋 my name is Igbokwe Uchechukwu Esther. I'm from Nibo a town in Awka South, Anambra State, Nigeria. Since I'm new to the platform my friend @ezunjoshy advised me to make an introductory post just so you could get to know me.

Growing up in Nigeria has been an incredible experience. The mixture of different ethnic groups and the shared collective knowledge of the nation gives one kind of flavour you can find no where else. Just the State of Jos (one of the Northern States) has about 54 different languages. Imagine that. This shared collective is one of the reasons I decided to go wherever I was deployed to when I was Called Up to serve my Nation.
I currently am still serving and will be done in March. It is during this service year that I met my good friend @ezunjoshy who encouraged me to open an account and make this post.

Currently I am serving in Cross River State. The State is popularly known for its carnivals and multiple cultural enclave. It is similar to Jos but doesn't have as many languages. I have been here for almost a year now and I haven't been able to speak anyone fluently 😅, there's just so much to learn.

Because of my area of specialty I served under the Red Cross arm during the days of Orientation while in Camp. It was a taskful job and many times help was needed. My saving grace was the Glucose-D 😅

Before I was mobilized for service I ran a number of businesses in and out of school. I'm from a family of 7 and have lots of nephews and nieces, sometimes I find it hard to keep track of their birthdays, presentations and some personal requests. I am trying my best though and they know their Aunty is just a phonecall away.
I studied Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) and majored in Biology. My final year project is something I am proud of and always brag about. Thanks to my specialty in school, I was posted to serve in a State funded College of Education which just last week was upgraded by the National University Commission (NUC) to a University of Education and Entrepreneurship.

I hope now that it's a University I get to take up more responsibilities and do more funded research. Its been fun all these while and though my staying away has its ups and downs still am grateful for the little great moments I have and the kind of friends I have made.

This is me on one of my visit to the Local Government to report for the month. By this time I was out of Camp.

And now about my hobbies. In my free time I enjoy watching movies, swimming, listening to songs. Currently I am seeing the Legend of the Seeker series again after so many years. It really interesting to have a fresh perspective of something when you view it the second or third time. My hobbies so far so good have been my treats and have helped me during times of stress of shed off the weight.

My posts would vary a lot and I intend to participate in as many contestants or community as possible but most importantly I would love to engage in the art aspects of this platform seeing how my friend is an artist that can easily put me through. But don't be shocked to see me on some make-up or singing some vibes from time to time.
