What We Found There
This church is a major, major representative of Satan's kingdom principles, which are self-exaltation. I mean, we read in David 13 that this church wants to be worshipped, and that they're willing to kill, you know, to cause all to worship them. And it reminds me of what we found there in Daniel 3, where Nebuchadnezzar had the same characteristic before his conversion of chapter 4. And he said, worship me, or I'll throw you in the burning, fiery furnace.
SourceAnd this does not represent God's kingdom principles, but it represents the Antichrist, Satan's kingdom principles. But praise the Lord, we see that Nebuchadnezzar got his reasoning back in chapter 4, and was converted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. So, again, we're looking at the activities of this church, and not the people of the church.
Very, very important for us to understand that. Okay, so we are on page 2, just about at the top. So I'm going to read this again.
Satan's most prominent seeds, or servants, as recorded in every vision of Daniel, are Rome in its pagan phase, and Rome in its papal phase. We will discover that in David the same is true. Satan's servants, which most represent his kingdom principles, are pagan and papal Rome.
The whole book of David reveals events that transpire, beginning with pagan Rome, and ending with Christ's everlasting kingdom being set up on this earth. In other words, events that transpire between the ascension of Christ, which happened during pagan Rome, and his return at the demise of papal Rome. We find this same cycle of events from pagan Rome to the kingdom being set up in the seven churches.
We find in the seven seals. The beginning and the ending times are the same in the churches, in the seals, and in the trumpets. Now, why am I saying this? Because understanding the literary structure of David is critical, as we start to look at David 4, we need to understand that John does not always put things in chronological order.
