Highlights from the last six months
We have finally made it to the 1st half of the year and am I the only one that feels this year is running very fast? It feels like it's yesterday that we celebrated Christmas and now another one is just roughly 6 months away. The last 5 months have been hectic for me and I was faced with a lot of challenges which I eventually managed to scale through. In the midst of all that, I have even forgotten what fun looks like as I'm always at home working on one thing or the other.
I spend most of my time learning coding and that is what I have been doing for the past 7 months which is not something many people would classify as fun but it's fun for me, I mean, it's fun seeing how websites actually work and building it myself but I will stop talking about that now because I can already feel some of you yawning now 😅 Anyway, my days were mostly shared between coding and Hive while taking occasional breaks to play video games (mobile legends) or watch videos on TikTok and YouTube, just the little things I do to keep my sanity in check.
The one thing I would categorize as fun which I did in the last 6 months is traveling. In April, my dad and I travelled to my hometown for two funeral ceremonies and I know that funerals aren't exactly something you would count as fun but I am not talking about the ceremonies but the journey. Am I the only one who actually enjoys travelling on the road? I know some people hate it, being cramped in a vehicle for hours is some people's nightmare but I love it. I just sat by the window in my uncle's car as we passed through beautiful cities

The last time I went to my hometown was over 10 years ago so it was an exciting journey for me. A lot of things have changed but there were still certain things I could recognize. I was happy to see my cousins again (after 10 years) and we spent time just catching up on what we have been up to lately. One of my cousins baked a cake that day and she gave me a big chunk which I struggled to finish 😅 The next day, we went for one of the burial ceremonies and it was for one of my mom's relatives. There was a lot to eat and drink and at one point I started running away from food.
Both ceremonies lasted for 4 days (I heard that funeral ceremonies last for 2 days in my hometown) and I did have fun, after all according to one of my uncles it wasn't a time to cry and grief but it was a time to celebrate the lives of the deceased because they didn't die ultimately. Anyway, I truly enjoyed my one-week stay in my hometown. I guess it was the exact break I needed from all the stress I faced daily in the city as during that one week, I didn't do anything related to coding and I wasn't so active on Hive, I didn't even use my phone that much.
I remember telling my cousin that it would be a good idea to retire to my village when I'm old because of how cool and peaceful it is. Even when everyone in the country was complaining of intense heat, my hometown was relatively cool and that's because of the many trees which you can find everywhere. Just in my house, we have over 7 different trees and I mostly sit under them during the day. Well, I finally returned to the city after a week and got back to my usual daily routine. Sometimes I do wonder; when does it all end? Everyone is just focused on making money and at one point we even forget what it means to live.

You are not the only one who loves traveling on the road a whole lot. It's real fun for me because I forget all my problems 😂
The village is usually fun to be sometimes and I'm also looking forward to one in two weeks.
