THE OLDER I GET - CHARCOAL DRAWING

Hi guys,
how are you doing today

Today I’ll be sharing with you my recent drawing of a girl child, depicting their struggles and societal constraints.

Created this using charcoal and ball point pen on paper.

——————— THE OLDER I GET ———————

The older I get, the stronger I stand,
‎Yet the world keeps pulling away my hand.
‎They tell me to wait, they tell me to stay,
‎But I dream of a life where I make my own way.

‎The older I get, the louder they speak,
‎Saying I'm fragile, saying I'm weak.
‎They dress up their doubts in sugar and lies,
‎But still, a fire burns behind my eyes.

‎The older I get, the harder I fight,
‎Chasing my freedom deep into the night.
‎Every "you can't", "you're not good enough", fuels my resolve,
‎Every closed door, I'll find ways to solve.

‎The older I get, the more that I see,
‎Independence was never meant to be free.
‎It comes with the weight, the struggle, and the fall,
‎But I’d rather stand small than not try at all.

‎The older I get, the more that I'll prove,
‎That I own my life, my choices, and moves.
‎So let them all whisper, let them all doubt and laugh
‎Let them point fingers at me calling me a fool
‎But I'll rise on my own, and make my cup full.
