ECHOES OF THE SWING

Hi guys,
how are you doing today

Today I’ll be sharing with you a new artwork i created recently using ballpoint and charcoal on paper.

I walked today where once I ran,
Barefoot paths through fields of tan,
Where laughter spilled from lips untried,
And dreams were stars we never eyed.

The old swing swayed beneath the tree,
Its ropes like time still tugging me
A tether to the days long gone,
When dusk meant play, not hurrying on.

Mud-caked knees and sunburned skin,
Hide-and-seek and secret grins,
Life was measured not in years
But in dares, and scraped-up souvenirs.

The world then fit in dandelion crowns,
And monsters lived in underground sounds,
Yet every night was safe and still,
Beneath a quilted window sill.

Now grown, I wear the weight of time,
With plans and papers, clocks and rhyme
But oh, to chase a kite again,
Or race the storm, or dance in rain
