Obsession (Original Poetry)
Two bubbly eyes look up:
Where do you come from?
What’s your past?
My ears drop backward,
the fur straightens down
I’m from the future.
You called me to help you sign up.
Sign up? For what?
Another confused one, I gasp.
I try to decipher the linear timeline
a pretty dull project for a sophisticated species
running around in a catlike avatar.
Free will is activated before you depart
but once you’re on Earth, that logic doesn’t apply
The hard drive gets wiped out
making it difficult to choose your path.
Many squander, surrender, and deprive themselves of life
others fight, push, and hustle at the front line
the batteries get fueled either way
that I must convey.
Slaves upon slaves
worshiping monsters of flame
you’re so obsessed with the game
you forgot why you came.
The familiar plane
makes it comfortable to explain
an existential ordain
where blame and complain
are put on a pedestal again and again.
Tricks fill your sleeves
abundance is dissed
hence you persist
to bow down to your limiting beliefs.
Enough with the twists.
Get up! and unlock your sacred gifts
Detach from the uncanny machine
and play like a sovereign being
confident, courageous, and brave.
