My Ideal Weekend
Weekend, for me, is like a feeling of little freedom. It is a time where I take short break from routines, from stressing over certain things, and from the constant effort to keep up with everything going on around me. I think almost everyone look forward to their weekends. I know I do.

My weekend would not be eventful or extravagant in any way if I am to plan it the way I wanted. Rather, I would make it an opportunity for me to relax. Rest without rushing or worrying about the things that I am yet to get done.
I want my weekend to start out slow, I mean getting up from my bed when my body feels like it, staying in my pajamas longer than I would normally do, and maybe lying around doing nothing for some time. The kind of nothing that actually feels good.
All these while still around my family. Spending time with them makes me feel grounded. I like hearing my family members in the house and listening to the sounds of their movements, of their laughter coming from each other's room and hearing them talk to each other, sometimes not making sense but it's still comforting to me. I would not exchange that for whatever.
I would like to curl up with a book eventually. I had picked up some new hard copies that I have wanted to read for a while now. Unfortunately, school and all other things I have going on keep me from doing so. So, in my perfect weekend, I would have enough time to actually open one and read, that too, without distractions. Just me and the book.
Movies and anime would definitely make it to the list too. Maybe something I had downloaded for a while but haven't gotten around watching them. Watching movies that are able to draw me in emotionally, allowing me to escape my every day life for few hours is something I really enjoy. Watching this type of stories reminds me of pressing the pause button on life for a while.

I would also cook. I would not do it because I have to or out of it being my daily routine but because I really want to. When I have extra time, I find cooking enjoyable. Trying out new recipes are always fun as is watching everyone at home enjoy a meal that I have made for them. I take great pleasure in watching other eat something I cooked.
A calm, slow and relaxing weekend is absolutely my ideal weekend - one with with no noise or rush, and nothing pressuring me to be anywhere else, where I could really rest, free to just breathe, read, watch movies, eat, talk, laugh, and exist without stressing over what comes next. This would be my simplistic yet perfect version of how I would want my weekend to be.
