Wat Ton Rung, Chiang Mai, Thailand, A 100 years old Tai Yai art style temple.
Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This post, I will take my friends to see a temple in the art style of the Tai Yai people. Another ethnic group in Thailand. This temple is called Wat Ton Rung. This temple is a 100 year old temple in my district. This trip, I visited this temple with my wife last week. Before I take everyone the atmosphere at Wat Ton Rung, I want to share some information about the temple.
Brief information about the temple. Wat Ton Rung is a common monastery of the Tai Yai community. The temple was officially permitted to be established as a temple in AD 1923 or 102 years ago. The temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in AD 1969 or 56 years ago. And in AD 1993, or 32 years ago, the temple was renovated.
The atmosphere inside Wat Ton Rung. This temple was built beautifully and is a temple with a unique TaiYai art style and outstanding. Different from Thai temples. When you arrive at this temple, you will see the gold color entrance arch in Tai Yai art style. When you arrive at this temple, you will see the gold color entrance arch with two standing deity statues and two seated deity statues on a pillar at the entrance in Tai Yai art style. Looks beautiful and unique.
The temple sign (TaiYai art too) is on the side of the arch.
When you enter the temple, there is a courtyard with trees. In front is a large buddha image hall (viharn). This buddha image hall (viharn) is made of Thai wood in the Tai Yai art style. There is no decoration, Looks simple and unique, different from Thai buddha image hall (viharn). And the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) has a large arch that resembles an ancient castle.
Inside the buddha image hall (viharn) is a wide hall with three main buddha images. The central buddha image is a buddha image in the royal attire with TaiYai art style. The buddha image on the left is made of emerald. And the buddha image on the right is buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara. The three main buddha images look beautiful. And the decoration of the area behind the three buddha images is also beautiful.

The area to the left of the three main buddha images is a buddha image (Phra Chao Tan Jai) with two monk statues.
The area to the right of the three main buddha images is buddha image of the seven days.
And there are two large gongs.
In front of the buddha image hall (viharn) there is an outdoor statue of a Buddhist saint.
The area on the left side of the buddha image hall (viharn) is a single-storey building in the Tai Yai art style. And other single-storey buildings.
The area on the right side of the buddha image hall (viharn) is a pagoda. There are 5 pagodas, the main central pagoda and 4 smaller pagodas at the corners. The base of the pagoda is a hall. But it is not open to visitors inside.
There is also a large pavilion near the pagoda. This pavilion is in the Tai Yai style.
In my district, there are many temples in the Tai Yai art style. If my wife and I have the opportunity to visit these temples. I will share with my friends again in other posts. Thailand is really popular for their temples. Thailand's temple was just not for worshiping but also cultural and historical significant. Gladly Thailand preserve these temples.
