Wat San Ton Mue (temple), Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Hello everyone. This post, I take everyone to Mae Ai District again. Mae Ai District also has another beautiful and unique temple that I want to share. And this temple is quite famous in Mae Ai District. This temple is called Wat San Ton Mue.
Wat San Ton Mue is a quite old temple. This temple was allowed to be established as a temple in year A.D 1932 or 91 years ago. And the temple just received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in year A.D. 2008 or about 15 years ago.
Wat San Ton Mue is located in San Ton Mue Village, On a rural road in the San Ton Mue Subdistrict, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai Province. This temple is approximately 168 kilometers from Chiang Mai Airport, Mueang Chiang Mai District.
The first highlight of the temple : the front entrance arch. This entrance arch is called phuthasombat. The entrance arch is made from bricks coated with cement and painted silver. Decorated with gold color stucco patterns. And on top of the entrance arch is a pagoda and there are smaller pagodas surrounding this pagoda.
Around the pillars of this entrance arch there are also two giant statues. And two giant statues are the size of a person.
On the right side of the entrance arch is a name plate of temple. This name plate is in a small wooden pavilion. (Lanna style pavilion).
Second highlight : ordination hall (ubosot). This sacred architecture for monks to perform religious ceremonies is made of bricks plastered with cement and painted white. Decorated with stucco patterns of gold color, green and light blue. Additionally, the ordination hall (ubosot) is decorated with gold color stucco buddha statues and oil paintings. And on the railing of the entrance to the ordination hall (ubosot) is decorated with the serpent statue.
The ordination hall (ubosot).
Third highlight : buddha image hall (viharn). This sacred architecture for monks and villagers to perform religious ceremonies. The buddha image hall (viharn) is made of bricks plastered with cement and painted white. Decorated with gold color stucco patterns and light blue. In addition, the front of the buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated with buddhist paintings too. And on the railing of the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated with the serpent statue like the ordination hall (ubosot). But the serpent statue of the buddha image hall (viharn) is larger than the ordination hall (ubosot). There is also two white lion statue beside the steps at the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn).
Fourth highlight : pagoda. This pagoda is made of bricks plastered with cement and painted gold color. The shape of the pagoda is polygonal and the top of the pagoda is bell-shaped with overlapping circles. And decorated with buddha images on all 4 sides.
In addition, there is also a wall surrounding the pagoda. There were many giant statues on this walls. And on the pillars of the four corner walls were small gold color pagodas. The entrance to the pagoda has 3 arches. All 3 arches are beautifully decorated.
The buddha image hall (viharn) is beside the ordination hall (ubosot) and the pagoda is behind the ordination hall (ubosot).

A wonderful architecture that is very pleasing to look at. Although the architecture is very old, the environment is amazing and the buildings are very old. These architectures are very enjoyable to visit and spend wonderful moments with family.
