Wat Phra That Si Sam Rak, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.
Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. Tung Khao Puang Subdistrict is a subdistrict in Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province. This sub-district has many villages, including both local Thai villages and ethnic villages. Most of them are buddhists. The sacred place for religious ceremonies is the temples. And each village has its own temple. In this post, I will take you to see a temple in this subdistrict. This temple is called Wat Phra That Si Sam Rak. This temple is a common monastery for local Thai people and Tai Yai people for religious ceremonies together. Wat Phra That Si Sam Rak is a new temple, built in AD 1986 or about 39 years ago. Built to honor King Naresuan, King Phra Ekathotsarot and sister of two kings. The two kings were the kings of Thailand during the Ayutthaya period.
Wat Phra That Si Sam Rak is a temple on a hill with architecture in the temple including a buddha image hall (viharn), an ordination hall (ubosot), a pagoda and a large pavilion. The entrance to the temple has an entrance arch in Lanna art style.
The temple's ordination hall (ubosot) is a small ordination hall (ubosot) built in a modern style. Looks different from any other temple I have visited.
The buddha image hall (viharn) of this temple is not very large. This buddha image hall (viharn) is built in the Lanna art style. This buddha image hall (viharn) is put to the pagoda together. The pagoda is behind the buddha image hall (viharn). Inside the pagoda is a hall too. But the interior of both the buddha image hall (viharn) and the pagoda are not open for visitors.
A large pavilion in this temple built in a modern style like the ordination hall (ubosot) of temple.
Inside the temple, in addition to the architecture, there are also statues of monks.

This temple is located on a hill. So there is a viewpoint on the hill as well. The view around the temple is beautiful. It has both farm with nature views and community views in Tung Khao Puang community.
Inside the temple there is also section containing the monks' living quarters. But often I don't take photos of section containing the monks' living quarters. Because I don't want to disturb the monks.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

I like how you shared the story and history of Wat Phra That Si Sam Rak. The photos are clear and show the temple. I also like the views very well. Thank you for taking us on this tour. Great work.
The white temple looks modern but it still has an air of serenity feel. Very intricate and attractive design on the wall of the temple that is mostly in golden color. Being located on a hill, the temple looks more peaceful as it is surrounded by nature and green landscape. One can meditate while also cherishing the beauty of nature.
wow, thats interesting, I love to travel to Thailand one day to see those temples, streets where the street food and etc.
The temple is a work of modern art fused with the colorful culture. It looks so calm and serene. Beautiful! And I love how you shared the story.
