Wat Chiang Yuen, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai, Thailand, An old temple in the countryside that is over 100 years old.
Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This post, I take everyone to see the temples in my country again. This temple is the 94th temple that I have shared with everyone. This temple is called Wat Chiang Yuen. Wat Chiang Yuen is a small common monastery in Muang Ngai community, Chiang Dao District. Wat Chiang Yuen in this district is different from Wat Chiang Yuen in Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province and Wat Chiang Yuen in Chiang Rai Province. But all temples are temples with a unique northern Thai art style or called Lanna art.
Information about Wat Chiang Yuen in Muang Ngai Subdistrict, Chiang Dao District. I don't know any information about building the temple and royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree. But the temple was officially permitted to be established as a temple in AD 1898 or 127 years ago.
On this trip, I visited this temple with my wife. It was about a 63 kilometer journey from our home to the temple. And it takes about 1 hour for this journey. The atmosphere that day was overcast.
When we arrived at the temple. This temple has three entrances. The main entrance in front has an arch. This arch is in the Lanna art style, made of wood. There is a temple sign on the right side of the arch. And there are two lion statues on the pillars of the wall between this arch. These lion statues is made in Lanna art style too.
The temple sign is made of bricks and spread cement on bricks, decorated with Lanna art patterns. Looks beautiful.
The other entrances do not have arches. But there are two lion statues on pillars of the wall between the entrances.
When we walked into the temple, there was a courtyard and trees. On the temple courtyard, there are only two architecture : buddha image hall (viharn) and pagoda.
This buddha image hall (viharn) is a large temple, made of bricks with spread cement on bricks and white painted. Of course the decoration of the buddha image hall (viharn)'s facade, all windows and doors are in the Lanna art style. There are also oil paintings decorating the front of this buddha image hall (viharn). And on the railing of the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) are two serpent statues, which are unique to buddha image hall (viharn) or ordination hall (ubosot) in the country.
The pagoda of the temple is a polygonal pagoda with a bell-shaped top and tierred umbrella. And the pagoda has buddha images on 4 sides. The base of the pagoda is square. On the base are statues of the 12 Thai zodiac around the pagoda. And tierred umbrella are on the four corners.
In addition on the temple courtyard, there are also buddha image pavilions, bell tower and outdoor buddha images. And section containing the monks' living quarters with other buildings for monks. But I didn't take photos section containing the monks' living quarters and other buildings for monks.
The buddha image pavilion has the base made of bricks and spread cement on bricks. The pavilion is made of wood.
This bell tower is the two-story bell tower, made of bricks and spread cement on bricks. The first floor has several drums. And the second floor has a bell.
Outdoor buddha images in the temple.

The buddha made from bricks are so nice, this place is so good to visit and explore.
I always appreciate temples whenever I see them. Their designs never fail to captivate me., the intricate carvings, the towering spires the balance of symmetry and sacred symbolism. It always draws me in with its timeless beauty.
