Visit Wat SanTonPao, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post, I take friends to see a beautiful temple in my district. This temple is called Wat SanTonPao. Wat SanTonPao is a common monastery of the SanTonPao village community. SanTonPao Village is a rural village of local Thai people. Most of the people in the village are farmers and believe in buddhism.
Wat SanTonPao is a medium sized temple with not much space. This temple was allowed to be established as a temple in AD 1940, or about 85 years ago. And the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in AD 1993 or 32 years ago.

There are 4 entrances to Wat SanTonPao. Each entrance to the temple has no arch. But there is two brown lion statues decorated with gold color stucco patterns. The two lion statues are on the pillars of the wall between the entrances.
The first highlight of this temple is the pagoda. A large pagoda built similar the Thai castle in the past. Looks grand and beautiful. The base of the pagoda is a buddha image hall too. But this pagoda is being built, the inside of the pagoda is not yet complete. At this time, it is unable visit the inside of the buddha image hall of this pagoda.

In front of the entrance inside the pagoda are two giant statues and two white statues of one of the mythological creatures in Thailand.
The second highlight is the large outdoor buddha image. This outdoor buddha image is on the side of the pagoda. The white buddha image covered in yellow cloth on a white lotus pedestal looks beautiful and fascinating. There is a gold color tierred umbrella behind the buddha image. And there are 2 white serpent statues.
There is a small pond in the area of the outdoor buddha image too. In this pond has many fish.
The third highlight is the buddha image hall (viharn). The front and doors of the buddha image hall (viharn) are decorated with gold color stucco patterns. And oil paintings about buddhism. The stairs to the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) have two serpent statues.
The inside of the buddha image hall (viharn) is simple, painted brown and decorated with oil paintings. And there are 5 gold color buddha images. All buddha images are buddha images in the attitude of subduing Mara.
The fourth highlight is the ordination hall (ubosot). This ordination hall (ubosot) was built with bricks and mortar like buddha image hall (viharn). The front, doors and windows are decorated with gold color stucco patterns too. But the pattern is different from the buddha image hall (viharn). And the stairs to the entrance to the ordination hall (ubosot) have two serpent statues too. In addition, there are also low wall and many boundary stones on the walls surrounding the ordination hall (ubosot).
The fifth highlight is the various sculptures in the temple. The temple has various statues including angel statues, deer statues, and statues of one of the mythological creatures in Thailand. Additionally, there are the pillar of buddhism.
Other atmosphere in the temple has a bell tower and section containing the monks' living quarters.
