A temple in the style of northern Thai art mixed with Tai Yai art, Wat Silawas, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This post I will take everyone to see a temple in the style of northern Thai art mixed with Tai Yai art. This temple is called Wat Silawas. On this trip, I visited Wat Silawas with my wife. This temple is about 46 kilometers from our home. We traveled on highway 107 from Fang District to Chiang Dao District. As we neared the temple, we saw the entrance arch. This arch is made of wood in the style of northern Thai art. In front of the arch are two large lion statues. And on the side of the arch there is a temple sign. The temple sign is made of wood in the style of northern Thai art as well.
The wood arch and wood temple sign in the style of northern Thai.
As we through this wooden arch, it is a community area with local farms. From the arch to the temple area )Distance approximately 200 meters). We will see the white temple walls and many statues of deities on the walls. This temple has two entrances. The front entrance has no statues. But the back entrance has two lion statues on pillars between the entrance.
Local farm outside the temple, Looks shady and nice atmosphere.
When we entered the temple, on the right was a lawn and a large wooden pavilion. In front of the large wooden pavilion are three large gongs. These large gongs are decorated with beautiful patterns.
And on the left side there is a small wooden pavilion. This pavilion has no walls and has a roof made in the Tai Yai art style. Inside the small pavilion are three gold color buddha images, mades in the Tai Yai art style.
Behind the pavilion are many statues. These statues are statues of the buddha image in the attitude of protected by seven-head naga and statues of monks with statues of deities.
These sculptures are of a monk sitting on a horse with there is a statue of a deity holding a tierred umbrella on the right side. And there is a deer statue on the left. These statues are surrounded by a low wall and have statues of deities on four corner pillars too. All statues are made in the Tai Yai art style.
Beside these outdoor statues are two pavilions. The first pavilion is in the Tai Yai style and the second pavilion is in the northern Thai style.
As we pass the outdoor sculptures and two pavilions, we see another pavilion, this pavilion in the Tai Yai art style as well. But this pavilion has the low wall surrounding pavilion. There is an entrance arch to the pavilion made of bricks with spread cement on bricks and painted white, the top of the arch decorated with stucco in the Tai Yai art style.
Inside the pavilion are many small statues of men and women in the Tai Yai art style. I am not sure if these statues are Tai Yai people deities.
The area outside the walls of the pavilion also has lotuses.
This temple has two buddha image halls (viharn). The first buddha image hall (viharn) is located behind the pavilion surrounded by a low wall. This buddha image hall (viharn) is buddha image hall (viharn) in the northern Thai art style, decorated with beautiful stucco patterns. The entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) is a staircase with two naga statues. And there are also two giant statues in front of this buddha image hall (viharn).
The second buddha image hall (viharn) is a buddha image hall (viharn) in the Tai Yai art style, which is unique and beautiful. But the buddha image hall (viharn) is under construction and is not yet complete.
Near the Tai Yai art style buddha image hall (viharn) are three large outdoor statues. The three statues are statues of deities made in the Tai Yai art style.
Finally other atmospheres in this temple.

Hey @kriang3teejoe you are welcome.
Thanks for using @worldmappin 😘
Wow, it's another majestic temple to showcase; the design is really attractive. The small statues lining on top of the wall give a unique accent to the entrance path. The farm looks thriving and serene. The area is well-decorated with different traditional and religious elements. Even if the new temple is still under construction, it already looks impressive. Going to temples gives us a chance to pay respect and a chance to admire its architectural beauty.

Such a beautifully detailed journey. The blend of Northern Thai and Tai Yai art gives the temple a unique charm that sets it apart.
Everything looks so intricate and beautiful! I wonder how long does it take to build such a beautiful temple?
