I think if a new player came in now, he would have to invest a lot to get to a position where his rewards would start to be interesting. Or he would have been working his way up for a few years.
Whoever started at the beginning of the game has a clear advantage. I assume you've been playing since the beginning.

I was in Splinterlands from the start, but I was limited with the purchase of assets with crypto. My country back then was not too friendly about fiat to crypto transactions. It was not a problem to catch later. You can do the same, they are many leagues and guild of power players who can help you grow your collection. It is a process that will take a certain time. If you want to earn or win a lot right from the beginning, it will be challenging.
You have the opportunity to start now, so in twelve months you will not be notice but a skilled splinter making way to the leaderboard of your league.
