Newcastle is a good team that’s been playing quite well. It will be a good game, and I hope Chelsea comes out on top. After last week's setback against Liverpool, it's time to stand firm, send a message of authority, and return to winning ways. I expect nothing less from Enzo Maresca’s team, who has sent a clear message to certain players, which I'll talk about later.
As usual, here’s the team overview: Chelsea has no injured players. Maresca has the full roster ready and available; anyone left out of the lineup will be due to the coach’s decision. There’s something I really like about Maresca, beyond how the team is playing and getting results: it’s the way he communicates his ideas and holds players accountable. Recently, he called out the team captain, Reece James.
Maresca said he expected a lot more from Reece James in terms of leadership both on and off the field. As we all know, James has spent a lot of time injured, and these recurring injuries have kept him out of the team. The coach highlighted this issue and showed his dissatisfaction. He also mentioned that Chelsea lacks leaders and that when there aren’t natural leaders, they have to be developed. In this regard, he praised Levi Colwill, who has shown significant growth in this area.
So far, I think what Enzo is doing is excellent. All good so far. It’s true that Chelsea lacks leaders who will stand up, speak up, or shout on the field; this has been missing for years.
