Here is my entry for BeerSaturday 437.There are pleasures that don't require grand ceremonies or elaborate settings. They are those that are born from the everyday and appear at just the right moment to transform the ordinary into pure satisfaction. Among these humble and necessary pleasures is the act of having one or several beers. Drinking beer is one of the great pleasures I enjoy, but I know a whole lifetime isn't enough to try the immense variety that exists. Even if I lived to be 120, I couldn't taste them all. That's why, in order to sample as many as possible, whenever I meet with certain friends who are beer lovers like me, we always choose a different one, one we haven't tasted yet.

Aquí esta mi entrada al BeerSaturday 437. Hay placeres que no necesitan de grandes ceremonias ni de entornos rebuscados. Son aquellos que nacen de lo cotidiano y que aparecen en el momento justo para transformar lo ordinario en plena satisfacción. Entre estos placeres, humildes y necesarios, se encuentra el acto de tomar una o varias cervezas. Beber cerveza es uno de los grandes placeres que disfruto, pero se que no alcanza una vida entera para probar la inmensa variedad de ellas que existen. Ni llegando a los 120 años podría saborearlas todas. Es por eso que en aras de catar la mayor cantidad posibles, cada vez que me reúno con ciertas amigas amantes de la cerveza, como yo, siempre escogemos una diferente, una que aún no hallamos degustado.
Beer,like coffee, is an excellent pretext for chats, get-togethers with friends, birthday celebrations, and non-birthdays too. So this time, I met up with my friend Mireisy and other colleagues, and it was the turn of the beer "Three Horses," an iconic beer from Madagascar, even considered a national symbol.
La cerveza, como el café, es un excelente pretexto para charlas, reuniones entre amigos, celebración de cumpleaños y de no cumpleaños también. Así que esta vez me encontré con mi amiga Mireisy y otros colegas y le toco el turno a la cerveza "Tres Caballos" ("Three Horses") emblemática de Madagascar y hasta es considerada un símbolo nacional.
Its container is a white and green can with the heads of three horses.When we poured it, we discovered the liquid is a darkish, clear amber color, with a white foam, not excessive but persistent, that clung to the edges of the glass. It has an alcohol content of ~5.4% vol. All this preamble is the prelude to the moment of connection with the beer and disconnection from routine. Then comes the aroma, a soft smell. But the true connection begins with the first sip that reaches the palate and awakens the senses.
Su envase es una lata de color blaco y verde con la cabeza de tres caballos. Al servirla, descubrimos que el líquido es de un color ámbar medio oscura y limpia, con una espuma blanca, no excesiva pero sí persistente, que se aferraba a los bordes del vaso. Tiene un grado de alcohol ~5.4% vol. Todo este preámbulo es la antesala del momento de conexión con la cerveza y de desconexión con las rutinas. Luego llega el aroma, un olor suave. Pero la verdadera conexión comienza con el primer sorbo que llega al paladar y despierta los sentidos.
Like any good beer,this one is also ideal for quenching thirst after a long day, under the scorching sun, or simply at the end of the day, when the body and mind slow their frantic pace. The flavor of Three Horses is balanced with a slight bitterness that doesn't overwhelm or become tiresome. It's a beer that's easy to drink, whose first sip immediately invites the next.
Como buena cerveza, esta también es ideal para calmar la sed después de una larga jornada, bajo el sol abrasador o simplemente al final del día, cuando el cuerpo y la mente detienen su ritmo desbocado. El sabor de la Three Hourses es equilibrado con un ligero amargor que no abruma ni cansa. Es una cerveza que se bebe con facilidad, cuyo primer trago invita de inmediato al siguiente.
While we enjoyed our beers,my friend and I laughed and caught up on various topics that had nothing to do with work, of course. After finishing the first glass, a pleasant feeling of freshness and satisfaction remains. There are no heavy aftereffects, just the immediate memory and the certainty of having enjoyed something authentic and well-made. This amber liquid has seen the sun set over a thousand conversations and has witnessed friendships being forged. Drinking beer is a simple and comforting act rooted in tradition, although in my case, it wasn't inherited from my parents.
Mientras disfrutamos nuestras cervezas, mi amiga y yo reímos y nos ponemos al día en cuanto a diversos temas que no tengan que ver con trabajo, por supuesto. Al terminar el primer vaso, queda una grata sensación de frescura y satisfacción. No hay residuos pesados, solo el recuerdo inmediato y la certeza de que se ha disfrutado de algo auténtico y bien hecho. Este líquido ámbar ha visto caer el sol en mil tertulias y ha sido testigo de amistades forjadas. Beber cerveza es un acto simple y reconfortante que tiene sus raíces en la tradición, aunque en mi caso no fue heredado de mis padres.
If we give it a literary sense,the name of this beer could well be a metaphor. The horse is an animal that evokes strength, which with its willpower pulls carriages. In that case, Three Horses represents impetus and perseverance. It is the beer of the shared table, of the bar counter, it is the glass raised to toast a success, to console in failure, or simply to celebrate the fact of being together and to wish each other health, because every shared beer carries a toast. I have always believed that a few beers, in just the right measure, can ease tensions and conflicts.
Si le damos un sentido literario, el nombre de esta cerveza bien pudiera ser una metáfora. El caballo es un animal que evoca la fuerza, que con su voluntad arrastra carruajes. En ese caso, la Three Horses representa el ímpetu y la perseverancia. Es la cerveza de la mesa compartida, de la barra del bar, es el vaso que se levanta para brindar por un éxito, para consolar en un fracaso o, simplemente, para celebrar el hecho de estar juntos y desearmos salud, porque toda cerveza compartida lleva un brindis. Siempre he sido partidaria de que unas cervezas, en la medida justa, pueden suavizar tensiones y conflictos.
I am satisfied and happy to have chosen Three Horses for this occasion with my friend because,without a doubt, beer is a social moderator that reminds us that the best pleasures, when shared, are not divided, they are multiplied. And this is an ephemeral but deserved pleasure. For now, I'll keep this exquisite flavor with me until it's time to taste the next one. It's Saturday, and the body knows it... Cheers!
Estoy satisfecha y feliz de haber escogido la Three Horses para esta ocasión con mi amiga porque, sin dudas, la cerveza es un moderador social que nos recuerda que los mejores placeres, al compartirlos, no se divididen, se multiplican. Y este es un placer efímero pero merecido. Por lo pronto, me quedo con este sabor exquisito hasta que toque catar la próxima. Es sábado y el cuerpo lo sabe... ¡Salud!
