MemeHive Curation Contest Week 3

2025_04_22.png

Four Hivians received their respective MEME rewards for last week's contest. So far, 14,000 MEME have been distributed to the winners for the last two weeks of this curation contest. The good news is, @greywarden100 inquired about the possibility of increasing the rewards for the second time. And not only that, even @pepetoken expressed his desire to add the PEPE rewards to the existing MEME rewards. This is a great and a positive development. I am looking forward to the fact that with the increase in the rewards, we will see an increasing number in contest participation.

However, I am thinking of the future sustainability of the contest. I am cautious about overpromising. And that is why even though everybody loves higher rewards, I responded to @greywarden100 to maintain the current reward level and observe the response of the community for at least a month. By May 5, I will propose the following increase:

Proposed Increase in MEME Rewards

  • 1st Place: From 4,000 MEME to 5,000 MEME

  • 2nd Place: From 2,000 MEME to 2,500 MEME

  • 3rd Place: From 1,000 MEME to 1,500 MEME

Plus 2 consolation prizes of 1,000 MEME each.

If this is approved, the new reward per week will be 11,000 MEME instead of 8,000. With the current bid price of MEME, 5,000 MEME is equivalent to 1.5 SWAP.HIVE. If you post a sell order on the ask side, the HIVE equivalent will be higher.

Proposed PEPE Rewards

  • 1st Place: 50,000 PEPE

  • 2nd Place: 25,000 PEPE

  • 3rd Place: 10,000 PEPE

Plus 2 consolation prizes of 5,000 PEPE each. The total weekly reward will be 95,000 PEPE. Again, with the current bid price of PEPE, 50,000 is equivalent to 0.265 HIVE, and with the ask price of 0.00000969 SWAP.HIVE, 50,000 can be sold for 0.4845 SWAP.HIVE.

Combining the two, we will have 11,000 MEME plus 95,000 PEPE weekly rewards. I think with this development, the community is moving in a positive direction and I am expecting wider engagement in the weeks to come.

Guidelines Update

@babygirl888 inquired about the criteria for a post to qualify as a Meme-Post. Responding to the inquiry, I came up with updated guidelines:

  • Image originality or properly credited.

  • A 50-word explanation. The longer, the better.

  • Use the hashtag #MEME

  • Memes related to crypto market crashes, Hive vs. Web2, and bear vs. bull markets are preferred.

  • Something lighter and not so serious. Something that will bring fun.

Timeline

  • Announcement Date: April 22

  • Contest Duration: April 22 - April 26

  • Judging Period: April 27

  • Winner Announcement: April 28

Thank you and looking forward to your participation in this MemeHive Curation Contest Week 3!

It's better to see how this contest, invokes the sleeping potential meme creators out here, before proposing reward increase. I am looking forward to mime these Meme for !Lolz power ... I love the jokes by the LOLZ Bot... want it to power it more with joke power!!

And meme coins I hope will get its own intrinsic value, Pepe would help to incentivize participation more for Meme coin non-takens, so that move is good I feel, personally I won't spend a peeny to buy Pepe and all... but if I earn it, I keep it(:

Also meme's on economic and cryto topics are good I feel, because they make things easier to digest, not just in terms of difficulty of concept but the impact. No one wants to feel, recession and inflation fire is on them... its better they see cartoon it's subdues the violent impact, by saying its part of life... but we will survive... and spreading awareness on economy, crypto, and other things related to finance has lot of value.

These are hard topics... many people not into this subject don't have time to read that and all... anyway... it's good the momentum of Meme contests are still on... I hope the community supports this.

Good luck Meme story tellers... unleash your Meme creating potential now... and I like Memes that are not irritating... the one's I see in social media are irritating to eyes but its hard of culture now... its always nice to have clean content with clean jokes as well... for me personally!!

Anyway!!!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. This is what the community needs. After this week's contest, I will include some of your suggestions in choosing the meme theme.

Yes, we need something lighter that will make us smile. 😊
