Roffey Island (tight anchorage) | Desolation sound

Once again, we entered another tight anchorage—so tight that we had to put on a stern line to ensure we wouldn’t swing into nearby rocks (as you'll see in the photos).

Here, you can clearly see the stern attached to the shore. In Canada, we often needed to use the stern line, but we love these anchorages as they offer peaceful, calm waters.

You can just barely see the boat at the bottom, but this is Homfray Channel—compare it to our tiny little spot! Pretty small, right? Let me show you some other angles of the boat.

Some friends we met on Vancouver Island told us about an old native settlement with a trail leading to it. So, of course, we set off to find it! Unfortunately, the snow was too deep, and with darkness approaching, But we did find the track — maybe next time!
