Drifting in Paradise | Kodiak Island
Finally with a bit of wind - we hoist up the sails and turn off the engines.
Technically we were sailing, but l thought drifting was a more relaxing word that fits better with Paradise and because we only did 2 knots (5km/h) which is very slow, let me know what you think😌
If you haven't seen the other blog, this is usually what we do, when we aren't in a rush and have timed everything correctly; we usually like to save diesel and sail/drift with the wind.
It's quite amazing that we haven't seen a single other sailing boat, it is surprising since it is summer, which makes us think - we are probably the only boat on the South of Kodiak island.
If you look closer; you will see our boat with both sails on the opposite side - this is called a butterfly and is used when the wind is coming exactly from behind. l was lucky to capture this especially in low winds like these.
This is all for today - l hope everyone enjoyed my little update, let me know which photo really caught your eye😉.
Until next time,
Kon
