A lucky kitten - Giving a stray a second chance ♥️
That day, as I was walking near a park, I heard a cat meowing. I had to keep going at the time, but when I turned back, I couldn't help but check what was happening.

Hello everyone 🌎❤️ Today I'd like to tell you the story of this little kitten. After a day of not being able to keep her safe after finding her, she survived the night on the street. I had only been able to give her food and water, but I couldn't keep her safe until the next day.
A friend also wanted to help her, but I had to take the kitty to his house. This little kitten had not only survived some kind of mistreatment or neglect, but also a cold night and being in a vulnerable state on the street. She also survived a walk in search of medicine and food, a bus ride, and another on a motorcycle until she reached her final destination, where she remains to this day.
She looked sad and tired here, but the cool breeze and beautiful sunset this day gave me hope that she was going to get better.

The same day I was able to rescue her, we made a brief visit to a volunteer veterinarian, as I couldn't afford a private vet. At that time, she was prescribed vitamins and a supplement. Another veterinarian saw her the following day. They administered deworming medication, another supplement to help with what was likely a neck fracture, and eye drops to treat an eye infection.
Fortunately, my friend helped me care for her, and there are other cats where she stays, which has made her feel more at ease, as she was quite small.
This was her first night in my friend´s home, she was addopted by a grown female cat that left her sleep with her.

But despite her size and fragility, she has a very resilient, calm, peaceful, and affectionate nature. She is one of the most adorable cats I have ever met.
Some time after her rescue, an X-ray was taken, which revealed a small skull fracture and a displaced vertebra in her neck. That explained a lot about her poor posture and disorientation while walking. And although her vision is working well, she seemed to have high sensitivity to light and one pupil is slightly larger than the other.

She behaved very well at the vet this day; also, despite looking cute and funny with her neck slightly bent, it was actually the way she naturally posed due to her injury.

I did a short photo shoot with her during those days. She was still having trouble walking and the light bothered her eyes a bit, but she still took time to rest and enjoy the sun.

I'd also like to confirm that her vision is 100% fine, and of course, her misaligned vertebra has improved. But so far the doctor confirms that she is doing well. Despite her diagnosis, her future looks promising. She's completely recovered from her eye infection, eats well, plays with other animals, and is more and more lively each day.
To this date she has already received one of the two necessary vaccines, and will soon be spayed when she´s ready (around 6-7 months old).

She has a strong will to live. I know that for many stray or abandoned animals, their fate is far from good, so I'm very happy that things have been different for her.
Unfortunately, there is still a lot of cruelty towards animals and a lot of ignorance about their importance and the respect they deserve. In this case, we're talking about animals that are part of our communities and urban spaces, such as cats, dogs, opossums, birds, bats, and many more.
A major problem is the uncontrolled reproduction of cats and dogs, which, of course, leads to cases like this one, of abandonment and mistreatment.

I would wish those reading this to understand the importance each of us has in preventing these tragic situations. One contribution we can make is sterilization, even if you can only do it for one of the animals in your community. You are preventing great suffering and even public health problems in those communities.
It doesn't matter what country you are in, as these situations happen all over the world. If there are no foundations in charge of these matters, as is the case in this country (here there are private and some government foundations, but they are not enough), it falls to the citizens to take responsibility. If you don't agree to do it, you can support those who do.
The effort involved in spaying or neutering a cat or dog, and caring for them during their recovery, is well worth it.
To wrap up, I hope this little kitten has a full recovery and a very healthy life. Since her story was very personal to me and my friend, they decided to add her to his family, so she now has a permanent home! 💚
I'll post updates on her progress later and maybe do another photoshoot. I'd also like to use the incomes from this post towards her future care or even for any other strays in need.

Hello! Yes, she was very frail and vulnerable; she couldn't even walk properly or open her eyes fully. I'm so glad me and my friend could help her. Ty for you comment! ❤️
I am very grateful for your kindness in rescuing and caring for this kitten. Without you, she would not have survived. She looks so beautiful now. God bless you for this good deed. @kitzune
I'm glad I could help her. Unfortunately, not all stray animals are so lucky; there's still a lot of room for improvement in how we, as a society, treat animals. Thank you for your comment, and blessings to you too!💙
